Your take is fair, but I disagree. In our family we value quality over quantity... buying things that are really needed and wanted, that will last and also experiences (you're definitely on the right track there) that will last a lifetime. There is still something to be said for delighting others.

On top of that there are a ton of people driving around town with their high beams on. I often drive on 66th st south of the Henday and it’s particularly bad there. Given how narrow the road is, how many pedestrians there are now and the varied street lighting it’s super dangerous.
