anyone got any advice on the following situation? I wrote and did a big chunk of the admin for a large MRC grant which also also awarded. I am named in the Staff breakdown on the grant as "researcher co-lead" with 100%FTE, and I am mentioned by name as "postdoctoral researcher Maria Niedernhuber"
I would generally advise that if your pi is having you ghost write their grants instead of either writing the grants to support you or letting you explore your writing in named fellowships this is a major red flag
Contact mrc grant officer, they should support you in this as well as your local union, they will help even if you are not a member
I second everything Edward said, it is awful that this happened to you. Make sure to download and save all emails that prove your intellectual input and ownership, all emails showing how close your draft was to submitted work, all emails showing you did the costing and finance as well as admin.

"Serbiaβs government has restricted the time academics can spend on research to just five hours each week. The rule has been widely criticised by the countryβs research community, which is now seeking to overturn it through the courts."

Please read this. My daughter is profoundly affected by Angelman Syndrome. She cannot speak or walk and needs assistance with every aspect of daily living. She is also phenomenal. She is loved by her family and friends. She brings joy to any room she is in. She loves fiercely and is loyal. /1

For me only all meetings in one day would work, seems impossible though with the amount of meetings so currently I work on the no meetings on Monday rule. Protects one day a week for proper writing...
In our skills and personal development lab meeting we had an incredible seminar from Dr Martyna Pastok formerly @newcastleuni.bsky.social now at Captor Therapeutics. She gave a candid walk through the switch from academia, told us what she misses most and what has been the best bits about her move.
