We had a great time walking in the Waukee 4th of July Parade with the Dallas County Democrats this morning! We shared our support for our public schools and teachers, our environment and clean water, healthcare accessibility, and for our neighbors. #StrongerTogether

On Instagram: real_timmeadows Just over a month ago, @4liveinthed had a segment with Michigan Humane before Detroit headed into “kitten season.” Later that day, I received a text and video from my sister about an abandoned kitten living in a rolled-up carpet on her patio. She had waited a day and a night for the mother cat to return, but it became clear that she was alone and needed help. With my sister and nephew, we gently coaxed the tiny kitten out of her hiding spot and took her to the vet. Though she was malnourished, she was generally healthy aside from an umbilical hernia that required surgery the following week. There was an initial thought to take her to @mhumane, but as unexpected as her arrival was, I knew I could give her the forever home she deserved. Her name is Weezy; she moved on up from a carpet to her own deluxe room and all the love, toys, and food she could ever want. Weezy has brought so much joy into our home. She’s outgoing and quirky and spends her days playing, cuddling, and, surprisingly, watching TV. If you’ve ever thought about adopting or even fostering a pet, let Weezy’s story be a gentle reminder of the love you can bring into an animal’s life and the happiness they will undoubtedly bring into yours.
