Carney wants growth so bad but is shooting himself in the foot by giving into racist rhetoric on immigration and using immigrants as a scapegoat for high housing prices and stressed public services — which actually are more the result of financial speculation and inadequate public spending.
Policing swallows 15% of municipal taxes. The 3.87% increase could've been 3.29%, if policing's $16.14m increase wasn't granted.
That $16m was 5x more than the library, bd of health, conservation auth., MPAC, beach rescue, the RBG, farmers' market, and enrichment fund got, put together.
