Today has been a vibe-coding intense day:
First, my The Lawfare Institute article on vibe coding was released, read here: www.lawfaremedia.org/article/when-the-vibe-are-off--the-security-risks-of-ai-generated-code
Second, I gave a quick talk on vibe coding at the Gikii conference in Amsterdam.

Wow. Wenn Hintertüren in der Hardware eingebaut sind (gar auf Chipebene), dann bringt auch verschlüsseln und fancy Passwort nicht mehr viel.

Just came across this poem by Ursula le Guin in „The Wild Girls Plus…“:
The Next War
It will take place,
it will take time,
it will take life,
and waste them.

We Bought a ‘Peeing’ Robot Attack Dog From Temu. It Was Even Weirder Than Expected
For less than the cost of a round of drinks, a plasticized Boston Dynamics fever dream could be yours too.
If you've always wanted to get your own Boston Dynamics Spot robot, but with the ability to fire pellets and "pee", look no further: Temu has just the thing!
Robot dogs lifting legs to mimic peeing surely is an interesting approach for social robots 😅

Pluralistic: AI turns Amazon coders into Amazon warehouse workers (27 May 2025) – Pluralistic: Daily links from Cory Doctorow
"And when they fail, these workers become "moral crumple zones," absorbing the blame for the defective products their bosses pushed out in order to goose profits.
As ever, what a technology does pales in comparison to who it does it for and who it does it to."

Pluralistic: AI turns Amazon coders into Amazon warehouse workers (27 May 2025) – Pluralistic: Daily links from Cory Doctorow
AI coding agents may create reverse-centaurs, conscripting software developers to assist AI, instead of AI assisting them.

This development seems to have already started at Amazon: www.nytimes.com/2025/05/25/b...

I highly recommend this paper: It moves beyond narratives of superintelligence (whether dystopian or utopian).
Instead, it offers a framework for understanding and regulating AI as a "normal" general-purpose technology.
