Wasteman is my first βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ film of 2026.
David Jonsson, Tom Blyth and director Cal McMau knocked it out the park.
Itβs a visceral and unflinching portrayal of life within the British prison system.

I was very excited to go crazy with my Limitless+ membership and start booking screenings. I got a years worth of unlimited screenings for just Β£164 a few days ago with a 25% off offer.
Tickets are on sale for the new Odeon Cinema in Cabot Circus, Bristol which opens on Thursday 12th February.
Iβve chosen Interstellar to be my first experience on Bristolβs new IMAX screen. Wuthering Heights will be my second.

Iron Lung - Out of Theatre / Cinema reaction.
Unfortunately itβs the worst film Iβve seen so far in 2026.
My full review will be coming to the Horror Mania Podcast soon.

What is Iron Lung?
Truth be told, I donβt really know but Iβm about to find out.
This screening is a few seats away from being sold out.
Whatever it is, itβs drawn a crowd on opening night.
Odeon.
Union Street, Bristol.
Through the years.
Top row: 1930βs and 1950βs
Bottom row: 1980βs
I think it closes at the end of the first week of February, but I could be wrong.
One final visit to the Union Street Odeon (Bristol) before it closes down after being open for 88 years.
My biggest memory of this cinema is watching the first Harry Potter film here and Jurassic Park III.

Look at all Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan have achieved as brothers in arms within Hollywood.
Both of them are still under 40 years old.
Long may their brotherhood continue for decades to come, on screen and off it.
One of the greatest actor and director duos.
Nia DaCosta in the past 6 months.

π₯ποΈ 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
Sheβs often overlooked in discussions about the great directors of the present and future. That ought to change.
π¨New Podcast Episodeπ¨
I review 28 Years Later and its sequel The Bone Temple, which contains the most sadistic human on human violence Iβve seen in a mainstream horror film in years. (Major positive)
Listen here: linktr.ee/horrormania
Nia DaCosta pulled no punches.
For some casual audiences, this may be among the most brutally violent horror films theyβve seen. One sequence evoked the memory of Martyrs in my mind. It gets that graphic with some of its violence. Ralph Fiennes and Jack Oβ Connell are fantastic.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple traverses into bold new territory & delivers a riveting examination of humanity & religion within a post apocalyptic setting, with a core focus on Satanism.
It contains some of the most sadistic human on human violence Iβve seen in a mainstream horror film for years.
Steppinβ into a back to back screening of
28 Years Later and its sequel, The Bone Temple.
Iβll be reviewing both on the podcast this week.

In this weekβs episode of the Horror Mania Podcast, I review of IT: Chapter One + Chapter Two. π€‘π
Listen here: linktr.ee/horrormania
Marty Supreme is an electrifying drama that is a crime caper disguised as a sports film, led by a superb Timothee Chalamet. It's relentlessly entertaining to witness Martyβs escapades in his unbreakable pursuit of achieving his dreams.

My first cinema trip of the year.
New year, New Episode. π
My review of IT: Welcome to Derry is now live on the Horror Mania Podcast. π©Έ
It easily ranks among my favourite seasons of television ever.

Pennywise is truly a monster in IT: Welcome to Derry. F**king nasty and mean spirited. Itβs the perfect depiction of Stephen Kingβs creation.
Bill SkarsgΓ₯rd has taken his iconic performance and added another dimension to its legacy.
The second act of Avatar: Fire and Ash takes place within an RDA mega city called Bridgehead. It basically looks like Midgar from Final Fantasy VII, mixed with the industrial structures from the opening of Blade Runner. Magnificent to behold and the action set piece within it is excellent.
Seated for my second viewing of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Stranger Things Season 5 - Volume 2: MORE EXPOSITION!
Every year I buy a game to play over the few days off I have around Christmas.
Last year it was Sonic Shadow Generations.
This year I bought Octopath Traveller 0.
Iβm 4 hours deep since starting it yesterday and Iβm hooked already. A large JRPG adventure feels like comfort at this time of year.
Merry Christmas π
These are some films Iβve watched over the past few days.
#NowWatching the somewhat underrated Black Christmas remake from 2006.
Avatar has more substance thematically than most modern blockbusters. That doesnβt mean you have to like it, but to act like it lacks any substance and makes no attempts to be something more than its visuals is a lie.
It explores family, love, grief, religion, war and spirituality with sincerity.
