Oooo I am veryyyy intrigued. Does the game contain a suggested campaign path? Or guidance for building campaigns?

Ah! I didn’t know that was you! In my TV Odyssey campaign we ended season 1 in that Mystery - the Latchkeys got pulled into Silo Deeps and we’re going to start season 2 with a few sessions in a meta-OSR game as they try to get home!

I’m looking forward to all of them but I’m particularly excited to read Books of Blood (it’s a friend’s favorite short story collection) and Kindred (been wanting to read since high school)!

The movie poster for Oddity (2024) is almost completely dark except for the title. Floating in the dark is a young white woman with platinum-blonde hair in a blue dress with her arms outstretched. Reflected in the exact same pose underneath her is a horrible shadowy puppet-figure with its mouth stretched wide in a scream.

Oddity (2024) is a supernatural horror movie with a simple plot (that never slips into cliches) and extremely well-executed tension and scares. It’s creepy and esoteric, with delightful and harrowing patience with its scares.

Four paper decks for Magic the Gathering lie on a table around a haphazard pile of poorly hand-drawn tokens for food, insects, Daleks, angels, and more. The commanders for the decks are: The Swarmweaver, Licia Sanguine Tribune, Rocco Street Chef, and Narci Fable Singer.

The movie poster for Caveat (2020) is entirely black, with the looming face of a ratty bunny-like toy in the bottom right corner. The bunny's eyes are wet and look awfully human. The title of the movie is scratched onto the black background as if with smudged chalk.

Caveat is a creepy horror movie with a claustrophobic setting that captures the same feeling as a survival horror game. It answers the most pressing elements of its mystery, but leaves the rest up to the audience's imagination after a chilling climax.

The movie poster for Red Rooms (2023) depicts a white woman whose dark hair is partially obscuring her face turning to look at the viewer while a glitching digital effect slightly distorts the rest of the poster. The poster is in black-and-white except for the bold, glowing red letters of the movie's title.

Red Rooms (2023) is a horror movie that comments on obsession, true crime, the internet, society, and more. The atmosphere and performances slowly ratchet the tension to unbearable levels. A bleak, multi-faceted, and riveting movie that defies easy answers and begs thought-provoking questions.

The movie poster for 28 Years Later is an entirely red poster with the title set against the radioactive symbol. Set in the curve of the three branches of the symbol are three human skulls staring at the viewer with empty sockets.

28 Years Later (2025) is half zombie horror blockbuster and half coming-of-age Film. It has some big ideas that mostly work, but it's also full of dreamlike whimsy that just didn’t land for me. I was entertained but found it head-scratching & often hollow or silly when it was trying to be profound.

The movie poster for 28 Weeks Later depicts the movie's title on a radioactive symbol on a medical mask over the mouth and nose of someone looking up and off-screen. The entire poster is completely red except for the whites of the character's eyes and their heterochromatic irises: one blue and one brown.

28 Weeks Later (2007) is a zombie movie that leans much more into over-the-top action sequences and big explosions than the powerful themes of its predecessor. Nevertheless, it’s an exciting movie that’s well-made with a cast jam-packed with big name actors. Good old-fashioned blockbuster fun!

28 Days Later (2002) is a zombie movie that explores themes around humanity, society, and survival. It has nice moments of suspense and the characters are crafted so precisely and so well (in even such a short time) that it allows for a surprisingly thoughtful examination of its ideas.

Yesterday I watched all 3 of the 28 /// Later movies! The original is a classic banger, followed by a fun zombie movie but nothing special, and the new one is WEIRD. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it, to be honest. My usual reviews below! I'm very curious to hear what other people think!

The movie poster of Bring Her Back depicts a young boy, his eyes uncanny marbles swirling with blood and other color, looking upwards at someone out of frame. A hand descends from above, putting their thumb on his shaved head such that we can see the chipped purple nail polish on the finger. A halo of smeared blood is behind the boy's head. The image has a very unsettling feeling.

Bring Her Back (2025) is an atmospheric supernatural horror movie that grabbed me quickly and held me ruthlessly captive. The filming style and acting is spectacular; I was totally enthralled while the awful horrors of its eerie and occult story unfolded.

The movie poster for Invasive (2024) depicts a close-up on the face of a frightened young Black woman cast partly in shadow. She's looking upward at something out of frame and her brow is furrowed with tension.

Invasive (2024) is a cat-and-mouse style reverse-home invasion movie with a plot structure and story that will be familiar to horror fans. However, don’t let that dissuade you: Invasive has incredible pacing, protagonists with pathos, and an overall very modern feel that I enjoyed immensely!

The broody, gothic watercolor poster for Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) is almost entirely black-and-white with little pops of color to emphasize the contrast. It depicts the brooding figure of the titular D, tall and beautiful with pale skin wielding a long sword and wearing his iconic broad-brimmed hat and black cloak. A single cross-shaped tombstone stands in the background and bats flutter in a messy swoop around his head. The "t" in "Vampire Hunter" is stylized as a massive Catholic cross.

The watercolor poster for Last Night in Soho depicts a blonde white woman with bright red lips in a pink jacket looking over her shoulder at the viewer. Emerging from the bright reds to her right is a young man in a suit while the blue on her left feels rainy and drab, capturing a young woman looking shocked as a young man looks on in surprise.

Last Night in Soho (2021) is a flashy supernatural horror movie that hardcore genre fans will find somewhat predictable, but it is exciting and stylish. The themes on belonging and nostalgia are a little shallow, but the performances and fantastic and there are some really cool visuals.

The graphic movie poster for "Dead Talents Society" shows a pale woman in a bloody schoolgirl uniform attempting to raise her arms to "frighten" the viewer, but a passerby's hair is wafting in the way, blocking out her mouth and torso.

Dead Talents Society (2024) is a vivacious and refreshing horror-comedy. What starts as comedic worldbuilding about the afterlife develops into a grounded examination of family, celebrity, capitalism, and achievement. I highly recommend checking it out while it's on Netflix!
