What a great experience today as our AMS chapter toured the National Weather Service Office in Wakefield, VA! Meteorologist Mike Montefusco briefed us on the operations of their facility and gave us a tour of the center.
The squall went through here in the Wyndham area, but it was just a burst of heavy rain and very gusty wind. The tornado warning was more for the Virginia Center and Atlee area.
I am sooooo snakebit by all these long range models showing big snows for Richmond. The last one had models showing 8-12 the very morning of the storm, only to end up with 1-3 across the metro area. My rule of thumb for central VA snow forecasts: I'll believe it when I'm shoveling it. ๐
That's a pretty interesting dewpoint right there. ๐ค Gonna be a close call for Richmond's NW suburban areas. Guess we'll see! Regional radar not showing much at the moment. A little bit showing up just to the N, but may not be reaching the ground. At 7PM in Wyndham, VA: Thin overcast & 38ยฐ.
Now that, right there, is what'cha call a rollercoaster ride! ๐ฅด
It'll be ~the~ biggest crowd ~ever~ to watch a convicted felon be sworn in as the President of the United States of America. ๐ซก
The leader of their movement...
Smidge over 2", on top of residual melted/compacted snow from last week, gives us about 3.5" cover here in the western Richmond,VA suburbs of Henrico County at Wyndham. A little disappointing, but considering the last several years, I guess I can't be too choosy. Fresh snow lifts my spirit so much!
Photographers regularly frame or crop their work to remove undesirable elements. I can't think of a more undesirable element than that orange rat-bastard.
Does he really think the rest of the world would stand for it? God, I hope not.
Hey, it bought me a lottery ticket. A losing lottery ticket, but still... ๐
Yeah, that's about how this is looking to play out. ๐
Plenty of stuff going on this weekend in Henrico!
The high-tech Henrico Weather climatological monitoring station is read for the Christmas season, and all the weather nature can throw at us! At 4PM in Richmond, VA's far western suburbs: Clear and 44ยฐ.
Had a good time at our annual holiday dinner for the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Meteorological Society last night!
At least one small part of the universe remains in equilibrium. ๐ That's 19 out of the last 20. ๐
First hard freeze came very late in the season for our part of the Richmond, VA metro area. Looks like we'll continue the trend over the next several days with low temps in the 20s and teens. At 10AM under sunny skies in Wyndham, VA, temp has risen to 35ยฐ.
Huge crowds at Busch Gardens tonight. First stop: Fake Ireland for a real beer! At 5PM in Williamsburg, VA: Mostly cloudy and 47ยฐ.
It should also be pointed out that Native Americans had been celebrating harvest thanksgivings in both states for thousands of years before any Europeans set foot on the continent. ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
This time of year, I like to point out the fraud that those charlatans in Massachusetts like to foist upon us re: the "first" Thanksgiving. It should be noted; the first English Thanksgiving in the New World was held 2 years earlier at Berkeley Plantation, VA. berkeleyplantation.com/https://berk...
Happy Thanksgiving to all from the thousands of Henrico Weather staff here in our massive ops center strategically located in the western Richmond, VA metro area!
Always been National to me, and always will. That's how I refer to it.
