A backlit hawk that is probably a Cooper is sitting in the top of a dead tree scanning the area. The cloudy sky behind it is a bit too bright to get a really good ID, but the hawk shape is pretty clear and we get many Coops migrating north through here in March.

The local green heron is hanging out in the reeds in the alligator ditch. He’s looking very sharp with his dark teal body and reddish brown neck!

The very flat horizon line viewed from inside a tall building shows that we’re in South Florida. The early morning sun is outside the frame on the left, but backlights the cloud so that it has a bright outline on the edges.
