The magnitude-9.0 earthquake, ensuing tsunami, and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster claimed over 22,000 lives—an enduring human tragedy. The plant’s operator continues the complex task of dismantling the damaged reactors, a process expected to take until 2051. ⚠️‼️

My opinion?
#warcriminalPutin is pleased the media are busy with Iran, not Ukraine.
#warcriminalNetanyahu is pleased the media are busy with Iran and Lebanon, not Gaza.
And both are pleased that the outrage is aimed at #Trump, not them.
Wake up, media. Critical thinking is required everywhere.

'Trump is talking abt putting ground forces there bc that is the only way he will be able to claim any nature of victory. Only that will be the end of the US presence in the Middle East bc we will not be able 2 sustain that econ'lly, physically. We do not have the soldiers or Marines to do that.'

"...Trump, Hegseth, Rubio➕the other entourage of their natl. security complex have completely misjudged the nature of this war, as has [..] Netanyahu. [Iran] is a country as big as Western Europe, w/93 million people, who live in terrain that [..] is entirely inhospitable to military operations.

Justice Department publishes some missing Epstein files related to Trump
The Justice Department has published additional Epstein files related to allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor after an NPR investigation found dozens of pages were withheld.
After having been caught illegally redacting files that incriminate Trump, DOJ finally published *some* of them but withheld others, evidently in the hopes that people wouldn't notice yet another partial release.
For the GOP, Trump raping a 13-year old girl is just not important.

We’re bombing people.
We took a lesson from the IDF, if you will. We are bombing people, as, incidentally, they are still doing in Gaza➕doing now in Lebanon to a fare-thee-well.
These are all war crimes. [..] someday we [..][will] have to account for these war crimes."

Rand Paul: "As far as reasons for the war, there have been many different ones floated, but none have been very convincing... we were told their nuclear weapons were obliterated, and now we're told their nuclear weapons are just moments away from being a bomb. I don't think the arguments are valid."

It's so bad that we've reached a point where members of Congress casually discuss stripping citizenship from and deporting people because they don't like their views.

Donald Trump shows his commitment to "populism" by seeking to undermine elections so he doesn't actually have to do anything popular.

Tim Snyder: ‘A democracy means the people rule’
Protests do more than fill the streets - they help to shape how institutions behave. The recent demonstrations against Trump’s policies inform judges, pressure lawmakers, and send signals throughout the political system. According to historian Tim Snyder, the scale of these protests, and the moral clarity behind them, can influence how institutions act. “A democracy means the people rule”, says Snyder.
Noem’s firing is proof that protests don’t just fill the streets, they can shape how institutions behave. And judges, lawmakers, and even Trump’s allies seem to be getting the message. Historian @timothysnyder.bsky.social adds, “a democracy means the people rule.” #Velshi

Fuzzy memories and hard facts: An SC accuser's claims against Epstein, Trump examined
An alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein gave FBI agents true accounts of her time growing up in SC. Claims she made about Donald Trump remain unsubstantiated.
This @postandcourier.bsky.social investigation of the woman accusing Pres Trump and Epstein of sexual assault is excellent. The allegations remain unproven. But the reporters confirmed elements of her story, and blackmail by Epstein illuminates his approach. www.postandcourier.com/news/epstein...
