I would love to live to see a day where the worst possible thing doesn't happen all the time.
I ran a game for a while with Mythras, felt the semi-simulationist angle worked well with the "anyone can die" feel of the series. I haven't played Burning Wheel but my understanding is that it's has a lot of narrative conflict systems (good for ASoIaF) but pretty abstract actual combat.

They're great books! It's where I remember first having the feeling that the new canon was portraying the Empire the right way, correcting some of Legends' mil-sci-fi wishy-washiness. I feel like everyone has managed to keep that very consistent, which is great.
