it must be such a psychologically bizarre thing for your full time job to be impersonating the father you never knew

Fab Faux are the gold standard for Beatles tributes, saw them do the psychedelic era material live with meticulous attention to detail at the Beacon Thester, so good
I saw Of Montreal with a guy from MGMT do "Teen Spirit" with two drummers at Roseland in 2008 and it was so well performed that the massive audience responded as though Kurt, Dave, and Krist were the ones playing it, total pandemonium
yes! I'd love to see the Field Music guys do their Doors band
REM themselves played so many covers through the 80s, a fixture of their live show, they get it
I saw an EXPEPTIONAL Radiohead tribute called There There in January, their ability to pull off the most ambitious songs in the catalog was such a thrill, a super high bar to clear but they pulled it off
what I've learned from the Shannon/Narducy band is that my enjoyment of seeing a lot of REM songs I never got to see the real deal play live is probably only slightly less than if actual REM was doing it
I've become very pro tribute band, I think it's good to keep songs alive, I think it's good for songs to have lives beyond their creators
until that crucial parenthetical I was like "what kind of clubs is ol Marv getting into"
found it! I wish this was a real genre of music
yes, thank you!!!
no quite the opposite actually
I'm trying to find a bizarre and funny remix of Justin Bieber's "Baby" that came out not too long after the original, it's got some kind of extreme portamento effect on everything so every element of the song sounds rubbery/cartoonish/silly - anyone know where/how to find it?
who is the modern Candy Man, mixing it with love and making the world taste good?
there's actually a superior version of this which is more to your point music.apple.com/us/playlist/...
I've seen the previous two tours so I know what I'm in for!
5 songs I am extremely excited about getting to see performed by anyone, ever, for the first time tomorrow at the Michael Shannon/Jason Narducy R.E.M. tribute show:
1. I Believe
2. You Are the Everything
3. Star 69
4. Me In Honey
5. How the West Was Won and Where It Got Us

I don't think that's true of Last Jedi and that's why they panicked with Rise
idk I think Harry will continue to do well with a base of fairly square people who are easily impressed
I figure a lot of it is that he firmly stands up to him, but in a respectful way that treats him like he's smart - so you get that "loves a winner" thing but also the crucial "doesn't make him feel bad" thing
