being able to actually commit to a voice training regimen might be nice too.

wish i had what every other trans girl seems to be working with. the ability to completely revamp my wardrobe. the potential to exist with other people. friends from my old life. energy and vitality and hope and a new start. complete transformation of personality.
some days you're a person. some days you're a pit.
And yet that's also subverted because while they're "all the same Fumiko" they're also all different to each other. Different fears. Different selves.
csm part 2 final chapter just ending it straight there with the message "the archetypical shounen action manga that Chainsaw Man becomes reduced to has its female leads inescapably turned into sex objects and its male leads inescapably protagonized into weapons" is certainly commentary
I also think Fumiko is an intentional commentary on how love interests in shonen manga are often reduced to being interchangeable from one to the next. Now it's literal. All the objects of sexual desire? They're just one woman.
Also having Ling give the Ramble of Adoration beforehand whereas Kim was the one who did the Ramble in the OU, perfect mirroring.
Feels so fun to have the AU's first kiss about a year after the OU's first kiss. And to have Kim be the one initiating in this one. Two angles that both operate to demonstrate the ways in which their respective boldness emerges in different contexts. Points all around, thank you :]
what's your favorite snack?
Jack has for a long time been the name of the Cool. Of the nimble, of the suave. lowest in the monarchic hierarchy of cards yet ever present. a box can contain a jack. women named jack are rare but often particularly exemplary of cool tomboys. jackie is a softening. i'm jack-ie. of jack.
terrible bracket seeding continues. this would have been a sick semifinal or even a final.
still amazed that that movie had kate have full on fantasies about feminizing dade. keep that. take it all the way in hackers 2027. hackers yuri.
Mexican Gothic! Recently finished it and I love it so much. The last half is a prolonged sickos yes.

No one clapped for my clown so you look at him again
Yes the world sucks but also: you can buy clown on ebay
An illustration of a lovestruck girl, her head full of thoughts of another girl.

Fandoms don't need to exist for you to enjoy things and form communities, and I would argue that half the time they undermine that. Every corner of mass media having a self-policing parasocial clan is such a deranged, late-stage capitalist phenomenon.
Several worm-in-a-rock gods, bundled in a bouquet.
darling without you
I wouldnβt have a clew
It's important work.
This piece is deeply depressing and also extremely dumb?
She says she makes six figures because she pumped out hundreds of books with AI. But the books arenβt how sheβs making that. She βoffers a courseβ on how to churn out AI slop books and charges people for it.
So, a bog standard grift
The crabbers line! The prostitutes styling one of them as a corpse! The entirety of the Laughing Storm scenes!
Both the original stories and the comic adaptation by Mike S. Miller, Mike Crowell and Ben Avery rock and are highly worth checking out so I'm mainly pleasantly surprised at how much stuff I saw that *felt* like it came from the source material
play of the devil
my only complaint about the Dunk and Egg show is that they made the puppets way too big. make them actual puppets!
Dark Science does something similar to Kill Six Billion Demons that I love which is subvert the dynamic of the protagonist reckoning with six to eight themed antagonists in sequential order. Not everyone is a dragon to be slain! Seeing it that way brings Kim to one of her lowest points.
Ok having watched it (loved it) I'm like ninety nine percent sure that when he asked "then who did?" in regards to the question of who invented dueling he was waiting for someone to shout "the stag!"
