Great reporting by the Boston Globe.

Option the two injury plagued pitchers who aren't going to make the roster before they get hurt and you can't anymore...
The notion last year that limiting Melton's innings (at the expense of the team) to let him max out in the pen to protect his arm never made sense to me.
Ditto Jobe a year earlier...
It's also going straight onto my cross-genre cover Spotify playlist.
I hope you realize you just Streisand Effected this into my ears.
It is 112 days from Feb 23 to June 15 (the date he is paid), so Feb 23 must be when his bonus is credited.
Valdez number was fed to me, but 112 days of extra depreciation got me a matched number. Weirdness from his signing bonus deferred means it isn't just full year depreciation in the NPV calculation. No idea where 112 comes from, just that it makes the math work.
I am 100% confident the AAV numbers in my sheet for Verlander and Valdez are correct.
Free File Fillable Forms for the win. Every year.
I thought mercury is why vaccines are evil?
Curt Schilling with a Hitler mustache.
The mustache here in 1989 was probably an homage.
Bump with an addition...
Gotta think the Wexner stuff isn't going to give you reprieve.
Love Curling...
Who is Hedley Lamarr?
Gee, I wonder why this author was laid off...
It has been brought to my attention the media is incorrectly reporting the Tigers are giving up their Competitive Balance B pick for Valdez. That pick is protected from forfeiture. As of now, the draft pick cost in their third rounder. Would change if they acquire a Comp Bal pick in a trade.
Elon's actions running DOGE hurt me personally.
Days like today, I wonder what a social media site that revolves around federal employees publicizing their work would have looked like the past year or so.

There's a lot in those file dumps, but Epstein being on Match.com after his original conviction should be a five alarm fire for anybody on the apps.
Watching the Euro Tour, and a guy just had a shank on the second playoff hole after hitting his tee shot OB. #JustLikeUs
A scoring error or possibly an abandoned unofficial rain game away from being able to slot a Tiger in the top left @immaculategrid.com square today...
Helluva day for none of the three main Guestumentaries to be available on streaming...
Bill LaJoie left the Tigers in January 1991, basically fed up with Schembechler/Campbell and the general stinginess of the organization.
I see they did that with Winchester too. Interesting...
Not surprising that Bowden was coloring outside the lines some though.
I did not remember Dmitri Young being drafted by the Devil Rays in the expansion draft from the Reds, then immediately being the PTBNL in a trade back to the Reds from a trade the week before. Seems... fishy.
3 more years of this shit, folks. If we are lucky two of them will have some small guardrails.
I (gasp) discovered an error on Baseball Reference that has propagated to other places. I have contacted them with links from the NYT at the time.
They have Joe McDonald listed as the Tigers GM in 92. It was Jerry Walker, who was hired after the 91 season. McDonald was the interim in 91.
I spy Phil Bickford in the transactions log on a minor league deal.
