Bsky is better for lurkers like me, but I could see how people who actually post shit and desire engagement would miss twitter
I think Mark Prior and Stephen Strasburg can attest that this rule is not exactly new

By my count, I got 15 of the 23 categories correct, which is slightly below my 69% historical average but is still better than last year!
But in all seriousness, even though this wasn't the best slate of movies in recent memory, I loved the unpredictability of this awards season and I did enjoy celebrating these films! (Except Emilia Pérez, besides Zoe Saldaña!)
Anyway, congrats to Anora and the rest of the winners, and better luck next year to the biggest loser, Hulu, for not expecting the Oscars to run 50 minutes long.
Regardless, there are two kinds of Hulu Oscar viewers, and I'm the kind that had an abc.com tab already open and logged into my parents' cable account just in case Hulu's stream shit the bed, which it absolutely did.
I don't see anyone talking about how Hulu shit the bed by fucking up their stream with two awards left, so maybe it didn't happen to anyone but me?
I fucking love every Sean Baker speech this season, which sadly has only been the Spirit Awards and 3 so far tonight
I wish they had done this tribute earlier in the show instead of the pointless repeat Bond tribute
I think Brutalist should win easily for Best Score, but then the last four are incredibly uncertain, which is incredibly fun! I picked chalk for all of them, but it's exciting to be so unsure!
While the applause during the In Memoriam is gauche, I was a little happy to hear the applause for Corman, who had such a more enormous impact on the history of cinema than just the B-movies he directed and produced. And he was a really nice guy, too!
The older I get, the more the Oscars In Memoriam means. Not only did David Lynch, James Earl Jones, Gene Hackman, and Donald Sutherland mean a lot to me as a movie lover, but this is the first time someone I've met has been on there, my brief former semi-employer, Roger Corman.
I had a feeling that A Lien and The Man Who Could Not Stay Silent were going to be too serious for the Academy, but wow! I did not see it coming that they would go for the only true comedy!
This is the first time I was wrong in Documentary Feature in 7 years, and even though I liked Porcelain War a little better, that was a great speech
Kudos to Alex Jacob for picking The Only Girl in the Orchestra to win, as I didn't have the guts or brains to do so
This is the 5th straight year that I've been wrong in my pick for Documentary Short, but I should have known that the Academy would pick one of the non-bummers.
Okay, the fact that they're explaining the songs instead of just letting them play is a little absurd. It's like they say, if you have to explain a joke, it's not funny.
The thing I might miss most about this awards campaign is how much extra spice Zoe Saldaña puts on every single Spanish word
WOW SEAN BAKER COMING FOR YOU, WALT DISNEY
Also, there was an Oscars tribute to the music of James Bond in the last decade or so, right? It ended with a Shirley Bassey performance, no? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Who is Lisa?!? Why doesn't she have a last name?!? Is it Lisa from BlackPink?!?
Bond montage: good! Whatever this is: bad. But I appreciate Margaret Qualley auditioning to the new Bond overlords to be the next Bond girl
June Squibb should have nominated! Thelma was incredible!
This was mostly a foregone conclusion for Conclave to win this, and I don't hate the decision, but it sure would have been nice to see Sing Sing win here.
Regardless of how the rest of tonight goes, I'm super excited to see Sean Baker win an Oscar now.
Conan's joke about Estonia makes me want to go overly serious Sean Penn and say Estonia made the movie November in 2017 and it SHOULD have won an Oscar
I know most people don't care about the shorts, but this is a huge surprise! I knew the betting odds were wrong to predict Wander to Wonder because no stop motion film has won in 18 years, but I really thought it was down to Yuck vs. Magic Candies!
