In short I found your twitter posts coming from shmups and boghog, found the rants entertaining and insightful, YT videos made me realize how barely anyone deeply cares about gameplay or questions dubious mechanics like locking difficulties behind easier clears, looking forward to more.
I commented on the 2025 games video (name: stardorias), comment was visible in incognito window but seems to be gone now? I know YT has heavy censorship but the most "offensive" word there was "shit" and there's another comment with that word up.
Warhammer 40K
horrifying
haven't used Godot in forever but Brotato and Halls of Torment run on it so it seems fine for projectile vomit at least
have you tried Tormentor x Punisher?
It has a pretty cool deterministic upgrade system where you power up your weapon by performing specific trick kills.

Planning to pick this game up. Can you elaborate on the Ricardo exclusivity? I keep seeing this sentiment from a bunch people, are other characters bad in some way?
I see you mentioned increasing object sizes so this may not be as relevant but this is a pretty simple and robust system that works great for games that fit within the limitations maddymakesgames.com/articles/cel...
Games with randomly generated level layouts, enemy placements etc each run have zero replay value, if they are different each time then you literally can't replay them.
This game was somewhat notorious for only having one background, now there are many as you can see in the images on the page you linked. That and the autofire was added in the very last update, first X68000 only then ported to Windows
some graphics were updated too, background notably, also some extra features like autofire
my "favorite" one is when the flaw is not even seen as a flaw but a good thing, personally annoying ones lately are all the on-demand instant i-frames and mobility making bad positioning irrelevant and rogueunlikes trending towards progression systems with a minigame attached (Vampire Survivors etc)
what others have you played? I can only think of Satryn
2 questions
How long did it take you to make this?
I remember seeing posts implying the game would be designed around rotational aiming but now it's just an option, not even default, what made you decide to change that?
