Yes, I know what's happening in Iran involves thousands of casualties, and I don't mean to diminish that... but they're both fighting the same fight against an extreme authoritarian government bent on suppressing rights.
Any time anyone can access that 60%, they win landslides and have clear mandates... but they are often forgotten in favor of catering to the 20% of the media's choice.
They are also a fearsome force when roused to action.
That's where we stand in America today.
60% of the public don't really give a damn as long as the football game is on TV, the groceries are still available and the trains run on time. The media, to them, is just another product to be sampled and they will usually listen to what's the most digestible rather than what's the most informed
