First day of committee hearings…they have researched and written legislation focused on topics ranging from limiting food dyes to HRT to voting rights to child poverty. Found myself a bit emotional today just being a fly on the wall, listening to these awesome young people!

Knew it was coming, but the news of President Carter’s passing still hits hard. What a remarkable reminder that traits like kindness, empathy, genuineness, and service to others are absolutely traits of good leadership, a reminder needed now more than ever.
