Probably correct. They're trying to wangle their way past some guards, and the final discussion (after they've succeeded) is along the lines of:
"What would you have done if they hadn't let us in?"
"Found another gate."

(Maybe I should get the whole lot again as eBooks?) <Sigh>
Possibly Maskerade, then? I have _GOT_ to clear some space, assemble the bookcases[1] I bought for the house move[2], and start getting the book boxes[3] unpacked so I can find + read stuff.
3:O((>
[1] IKEA "HEMNES".
[2] Nearly a decade ago.
[3] 50+ [4].
[4] Then buy more bookcases[5].
[5] ARGH!
Argh! 3:O(>
Guilty as charged M'Lud. 3:O(>
OK, all the pTerry fans need to read this thread if they haven't already. 3:O)>
Vetinari's retirement really _is_ a work of craft. 3:O)))>
(If the author is reading this: I mean every word.) 3:O)>
I think the ones on Authory are incomplete, and just a teaser for the Medium articles (I must resurrect my login and download the complete pieces).
Garius is an _amazing_ writer and really does justice to pTerry[1].
(One day I will be in London and will buy him several beers.)

continues...
There's a series of skeets here on Vetinari's retirement:
@garius.bsky.social l · Aug 16, 2024
and from 2019/2020 these two brilliant ones:
authory.com/JohnBull/ci/...
authory.com/JohnBull/ci/...
@garius.bsky.social has written that particular fanfic (along with a couple of others), and they are Very Good Indeed[TM].
They're on Medium.com and by "John Bull": "Come back pTerry..." and "The Handover". (I saved them to disk but the format seems to be locked down by Medium and is unusable.)
There's a similar exchange in Carpe Jugulum (but I can't remember if that's Carrot or Vimes)...
...and Vetinari on Vimes (to Drumknott): "He's the _reason_ for diplomats.".
Now that's got this moose wondering how close Dildo (Newfoundland) is to Twatt (Orkney)...
<runs away giggling>

How close is that to Dildo? ITWSBT 3:O)>
(Just noticed I can pre-order the audiobook through BigRiverCo, so did that... and was promptly suggested the new Ann Leckie, so added that as well. Looking forward to both of those.) 3:O))>
This moose has Murderbot on "automatic purchase", and can hardly wait. 3:O)>
(Also will definitely get the audiobook when it is released.)
Birmingham Council has been in dispute with Unite for over a year now, during which there have been no recycling or green waste collections while they try to break the union. The council is Labour-controlled. I am not even remotely surprised that the union has had enough of the Labour party. 3:O#>
Do you have the correct screws for the particular holes? (The number of times this moose has had to remove screws that wouldn't 'bottom out' correctly and find shorter ones that would fit are too numerous to mention.) 😬
Inadvisable (IMAO), you don't want it leaking out and discolouring things, nor do you want it reducing friction such that the fasteners come undone - even slightly. 3:O(>
A combination of being forcibly downsized by my crooked brothers, and having well over 3,000 books - possibly nearly double that - and the IKEA bookcases requiring a large clear floor area plus two people to assemble them. (I have over 100 boxes of books in that room.) 3:O(((>
This moose went and looked for Clarence: that is one _serious_ ginger mog. 3:O)>
...for (if you'll pardon the expression) serious screwing there's a bit holder that fits the cordless drill. 3:O)>
(I must _really_ get around to emptying the front room and assembling the bookcases (HEMNES) that I bought for the house move nearly a decade ago.) 3:O(((>
This moose has a ridiculous quantity of 1/4" hex bits and the various screwdrivers and attachments that they fit. The major use for them is assembling IKEA kit, for which a 1/4" ratchet spanner and the appropriate (hex/allen, Pozidrive or flat blade) bit (with extension bar if needed) can be used...
"Almost, but not quite, entirely _unlike_ tea."
This moose had a guided tour, years ago. (The crew area is smaller than the average kitchen.) 3:O)>
Good morning, I'm calling about your car's extended warranty.
I assume they still have their Vulcan[1] (and Blue Steel[2])?

[1] Though you can't go inside for safety reasons these days: the nose gear cannot be locked down, and pulling the lever would be "unfortunate".
[2] Tucked under one wing out of the rain - I assume it's a training package.
For Trump himself it probably doesn't matter: he'll be leaving office on a stretcher (either head, or more likely, feet first) rather than in an orange jumpsuit and cuffs.
...and the sooner the better, for the sake of the planet.
Whooooooooooops!
I hope the lawyer is wearing his stainless steel Y-fronts because that's going to hurt.
Incoming!
Millennia, not centuries. Then again, you might have ended up chained to an oar. 3:O)>
