The biggest appeal to me is the extremely interesting visuals and pushing animation into directions only animation can go. That's what I miss the most from modern cartoons.

Tho I love both I don't consider either a prime example of cartoons with "wild energy". Despite the fantastic elements both became quite grounded rather fast.
