I'm all for banning athletes born with an unfair competitive advantage over their field.
That's why we should immediately ban rich children from all sports.

Top-notch equipment? Private coaches? Travel leagues?
I'm sorry if this offends you but that's just not natural. That's just not how sports were when I was growing up.
Won't someone think of the children?

It’s one thing for anti-vax nonsense to ruin our herd immunity by spreading their disinformation. But the escalation to taking away our choice to vaccinate ourselves and our families is infuriating. The development of the COVID vaccine was miraculous, we’ve fallen so far so fast.

I’ve really enjoyed getting my Covid and flu shots in the fall and then spending the rest of the year not having Covid or flu. The fact that this very basic freedom has been taken away is unconscionable. I’m looking for ways to fight back, and stocking up on masks again.

The comments section of this post seems to really hate Democratic politicians who lift on social media. I haven't yet thought about mixing up one of my favorite hobbies with my nascent political career, but I do love any lifting content that isn't conservative-coded.

I’d love to hear some observations about what you saw along the way!

The local town moms Facebook page always knows what's going on around town. One time, they helped locate a kid who got lost during the town fireworks show. The kid, who didn't know her mom's name or number, found a random woman who scrolled through the images in the group until she ID'd her mom.

Democratic senators raise concerns about a new Trump citizenship data system After NPR reported on a Department of Homeland Security tool to check the citizenship of registered voters, three U.S. senators are expressing concern about accuracy, transparency and privacy.

It's evident that the policies of the Trump regime are unpopular, and we know they'd be soundly rejected if put to a vote. That's why the only question is: what mechanism will they use to stay in power?

This is all terrible, and the ICE funding is the kicker. I am terrified.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I can't wrap my head around the mindset of a person who is a victim of gun violence and is still willing to exacerbate the problem.

What other horrors of my childhood are on the table? Smoking indoors? Getting rid of seat belt laws? Lead paint?
We have a president who thinks culture peaked in 1982, and he's determined to bring it all back.

I attended a preliminary β€œAI Community of Practice” at my work. As people were sharing their use cases, I said β€œyou all know we can’t use this for anything the requires factual accuracy, right?” Why did this seemed like news to everyone?

Just finished the July 1 episode, and it's clear that none of the kids of the @thisdaypod.com hosts have a Minecraft obsession. Otherwise, they'd have the voice of Jack Black singing "tariff chicken" in their head all day.

All of this money to ICE is a catastrophic waste.

I'm over here taking notes. Talking to people is a solid way to run a campaign.

Murders are down nationwide. Researchers point to a key reason Homicides are falling dramatically in many U.S. cities, after a surge in 2020 and 2021. Analysts say a reinvestment in communities from local government after the pandemic's disruption is a key reason...

The numbers are in. "If you meet people's needs... they're less likely to turn to violence." The big, bad, shit sandwich of a budget bill plans will supercharge us to a new era of bad old days.

In broad strokes, it seems like Republicans fielded candidates on the WFP line as a back door to the ballot, but then couldn't quite commit to the bit? This screams dysfunction.

Considering how many of my would-be-protesting friends were at soccer, baseball, or hockey games with their kids today, I think we could call this a 3.5%.
I wonder if the military parade conscripted participants outnumbered the voluntary attendees.

I heard about the Padilla story on social and verified it and got context by tuning into NPR. Public Broadcasting is vital.

I am all over this platform!!!

My son’s baseball team couldn’t play a regulation game last week because 5 kids were playing a travel game.

I guarantee: 0/5 of those kids are going to the majors.

I personally stink at team sports, but I support adults who love them and want to play!

From Aspiration to Action: Organizing Through Exhaustion, Grief, and Uncertainty β€œSome days, my best efforts feel insufficient and overwhelming at the same time.”

For everyone who thinks they aren't doing enough:

"That change doesn’t have to begin with heroic acts. It can start with asking: What do I have the time and capacity to contribute?"

I'll be watching the hell out of this. I've been waiting for years for there to finally be a movie about Garfield. The book was amazing.
