I dunno, maybe Marcia had good reason to abscond with the house painter and shouldnβt have been black-listed as a film editor, is all Iβm saying.

And we talk about the gold bikini moment for Leia, but we donβt talk nearly enough about that dudeβs βcreativeβ decision to put a barely legal Carrie Fisher in a white dress without undergarments and then toss her into a pool, oh sorry I meant garbage compacter.
None of this is helped at all by the character design for Ahsoka Tano in Season 1 of Clone Wars.
THERE ARE NO BRAS IN SPACE
*screams into the void that is apparently Lucasβs horny brain*
We talk about how the fandom repels anyone who is not a cis white boy, but itβs not like the creators of this franchise have done anything to say everyone is welcome.
Meanwhile, having seen so many cosplayers recreate her costumes with enormous detail and dedication, you cannot tell me there isnβt a huge market for padme figurines.
Even doing a search for padme figurines, it appears there are 2, outside of the toy line, and one is the white jumpsuit where the midriff has been brutally scratched off and the black, uncomfortable corset gown.
*jumpscare*
There are so many figurines available that searching for images of him from the movies is actually difficult, because the image search is 50% figurines.
Okay, but the number of highly detailed collectible statues of Emperor Palpatine vs. the number of highly detailed collectible statues of PadmΓ© who has some of the best costumes in cinema history, is really fucked up.
Younger Child out here claiming heβs in an art slump while also creating a stat sheet for a demonic creature called PutsPineappleOnPizza.
(I donβt mind pineapple on pizza, but I am amused by this creature, regardless.)
I am not a woman (with bonus words βIβm a godβ as necessary*).

This is an entire thread full of trans authors - mostly independent - writing across all sorts of genres
It's difficult to get trans stories published these days; the huge media corps aren't even looking anyone but the big names right now. We put our stories out where we can
Hey autocorrect, I said βbog bodiesβ and I MEANT βbog bodiesβ, ffs.
There's a reason I made this meme

It is believed based off her burial goods that the Egtved Girl might have been a priestess or a priestess-in-training and that style of skirt as well as the huge medallion on her belt were ceremonial, but we donβt have a huge sample size for comparison.
dance costume with nothing on underneath.
Because it is MUCH shorter than the 1920s scientists who discovered it believed our supposed chaste ancestors would have worn, and it was also probably see-through, as the strings run up and down, connected by top and bottom bands, but would otherwise move freely. Like wearing the fringe from a

If you've read STAIRCASE IN THE WOODS or any book by any author, please leave a kind review somewhere in a proper review receptacle. Leaving these reviews helps the book, helps the bookish ecosystem, and also we are sustained by them as we sit in the corner and greedily gnaw on them like squirrels.
One of the best historical examples was found on the Egtved Girl, a well-preserved burial from Denmark. I am so very fascinated by the ways big bodies give us unique insights into the past!
Sheβs also the one with the scandalous string skirt.

Something tells me it will be very difficult to find linen curtains or sheets at the thrift shop, but I will certainly be trying!
I did, indeed! I got the instructions from the book below, although itβs pretty easy to find across the internet. There isnβt really a βpatternβ because all the measurements are based off the measurements and preferred fit of the wearer, but itβs not by any means difficult to follow.
I sure think so! The range of motion it offers is so good, Iβm sure some people would be bothered by the folds of fabric under the arms, but I donβt mind at all and am, in fact, very much here for the texture and visual interest.
I just love how it appears to not have shape as a garment, but on a personβs body suddenly has and creates shapes that are really cool.
Also, it is going to be delightfully airy during summer, I am excited about this.
I look forward to making more in different fabrics!
A photo of the poster wearing a bog-tee in a blue textured fabric, with a boxy fit and no shoulder shaping that nonetheless drapes in a cool way.
A side photo of the poster wearing the same blue tee, showing the way the tee swings out in front and back in an a-line shape.
I have two modes of dress as a nonbinary forest creature: corsets and floaty skirts/leggings and floaty tops; and Put A Loose-Fitting Swath Of Cool Fabric On Me To Belt.
The no-waste bog shirts worn by Bronze Age ancestors beautifully fill this second inclination in a way no modern clothes can. π

It does seem that those of us with the neurodivergencies tend to have bodies that are either too loosey-goosey, or tighten up on us.
Thank you for sharing and donating so far! If we hit $2400 we will be able to pay the security deposit and breathe a little bit. We need to secure this apartment ASAP and the rest of the funds by the end of the month. Anything helps!

Itβs not a compliment to refuse to see someoneβs marginalizations or disabilities. You might think youβre doing them a favor by treating them as you would anyone else, but it doesnβt give the sense of normalcy you might think it does. (mileage may vary, marginalized people arenβt a monolith.)
To celebrate this occasion, I should make pancakes. I feel like theyβve been deeply underrepresented in these conversations.
