Did the exact same thing while we watched Fellowship yesterday. "Oh, it was great...we waited in line for like six hours and some dudes dressed all in black showed up on horses...etc"

I use the Cassandra story to describe people at work sometimes and am meet with blank stares. Love to see references to it.

My sons and I, Badger fans, went to the Marquette v Wisconsin game a few weeks ago (Badgers lost) and were told "Fuck you, Wisconsin" several times walking back to the car. It was great. All in good fun.

My daughter just described Gollum as "the weird guy without a shirt".

My fighting fire for 13 years as a volunteer became evident tonight. Paged out for a structure fire and so left the house pretty hastily. When I got home, not one of my kids asked any questions.

I found out this morning that I'm something like a 5th cousin to Pete Hegseth.

Update: Canceled en route; the parents removed the kid's tongue from the pole.

Our local First Responders were just paged out for a three year old with their tongue stuck to a pole. It's about 10F here.

I wear stocking caps all year round. Sure, you get teased in the summer, but I love them.
