The CDC has been letting 1K people die from COVID every week for years and obfuscating the data, so that people would pretend that everything was "back to normal." It was gutted a long time ago. Same goes for the NIH, FDA, and the entire field of Public Health.

The attack on DEI is simply a means of inculcating a shorthand for viewing all people of color and women in positions of authority as unqualified and undeserving.
What can stop full autocratisation now? We know from our research that you need mobilisation across the full spectrum of the socio-political opposition + transnational support on media, civil society and governmental levels. Is there space for such a united front?
The right thing to do becomes glaringly obvious when you stop asking, "But what will he do next?" and switch to thinking:
"What can I do right now that will make his harms less damaging? What do people need to keep safe?"
I keep seeing liberals talking about 'Resisting' while largely going about their daily lives as usual.
"What are you planning to do?" is the first question.
The second question is, "What are you willing to sacrifice?"

As an elder millennial, I can't help but notice the gaps in what a lot of organizers seem to consider. Child care, for example.
Want folks to come out? Make sure they can bring their kids and they have something to do.
