Kate Wilhelm scored two great illustrators when her story 'Love and the Stars -- Today!' appeared in the June 1959 issue of Future Science Fiction: Virgil Finlay supplied the cover #artwork, whilst Ed Emshmiller added the interior splash page.

Perhaps best known now for her namecheck in the 1973 musical The Rocky Horror Show & 1975 film, Lili St Cyr (1917-99) was a popular stripper & #burlesque dancer known for elaborate sets & props. She later set up a lingerie business (Cassandra 'Elvira' Peterson wore one of her 'plunge' bras). #movies

Margaret Sheridan (1926-82) was working as a fashion model when Howard Hawks chose her to star opposite John Wayne in Red River (1948). Unfortunately, she had to decline due to pregnancy with her first daughter, so instead made her screen debut in the sf classic The Thing from Another World (1951).

Presenting a argument in opposition to your own is "sleazy"? Your unwillingness to even debate your own statement shows weakness and lack of integrity. The childish namecalling just makes you sound even more pathetic and unworthy of my time.

The landmark 100th edition of Yours Retro is scheduled to hit newsstands on 7 May, and I'm rather pleased to say I'll have two articles in there, one concerning a popular movie series of the 1930s/40s, the other an actress who appeared in the most famous horror film of 1960. #freelance #journalism
