Off-topic, but very relevant for me!

Noticed that @willsmith.fun suffers the same affliction I do with reflective glasses πŸ‘“ but @adampatrickmurray.bsky.social doesn't. What's the secret!!

Even with funding, there’s not enough people to fill the vacancies we have now.

Reducing class sizes might help. But unless there’s a magic money tree the other option is to halve salaries. And that’s not an option.

AI is actually what people always used to complain Wikipedia was; badly sourced, inaccurate information that misleads people through its presented position of authority.

Not every theatre performance needs or deserves a standing ovation. Save it for something truly exceptional.

See also: β€œcompetitive” salaries.

No it’s not. It means you can’t afford / don’t want to pay a decent amount in comparison to other employers for similar roles.

2020 was a good-sounding year. I looked forward to it for years before. Mathematically it’s great, I turned 40 (20+20), and we had loads of great plans.

Shame about the reality, I was robbed!

If only every school leader was brave enough to focus on thr wider picture, I’m sure our schools would be happier, friendlier, and generally nicer places to be.

Those, in other words, who our education system is set up to label as failures.

I couldn’t put this any better.

I’m privileged to be Chair of Governors at a school where we manage this balance fairly well. Those who β€œsucceed” in the traditional sense are rightly celebrated, however…
