If gender were the immutable biological reality they claim to believe it is, they wouldn't need to spend so much energy policing it like this.

π£ Call for Applications: ECPR SGEU ECR Pre-Workshop
βThe Far-Right as a Social Movement in Europeβ organized with @larboe.bsky.social, 30 June 2026, one day ahead of the ECPR SGEU Conference in Catania, Italy.
I think one of the few solid messages I received in childhood was "you are not owed anything by anybody". yes it was toxic for feeling like I mattered to anyone in my family BUT it also curbed any desire to coordinate my beliefs around receiving ally cookies
it's very hard to scrounge up any sympathy having been a conservative Catholic (and short term convert to a conservative form of evangelism). was it hard to learn that some people would not welcome me with open arms into any space I wanted? yeah! buck up!
"we have to be nice to people who are ex MAGA or else they'll go even further to the right!!"
so we agree, MAGAs have no independent moral convictions
There's this specific kind of white resentment that comes out a lot in online spaces, where white people act like being racialized gives you a 'weapon' in arguments that they can never access or deploy except by proxy, and they get *really* weird about that perceived 'non-white privilege.'
The pattern is here is consistent with the recursive antisemitism propaganda: fighting antisemitism/Iran because (insert conspiracy here about Jewish cabals)
It's actually profoundly similar to the way that eugenicist anti vaccine organisations worked to disrupt messaging around COVID (and previously MMR)

Iβm so tired of seeing people bash Bluesky for being an echo chamber when X is an actual intentionally constructed echo chamber that is demonstrably radicalizing people across the political spectrum who still use it
Nowhere near enough media coverage about the interconnection between the destruction of content moderation, the proliferation of LLM "generative AI" bullshit engines, the death of consensus reality/knowledge making, misinformation and disinformation, & the aims of Western authoritarians and fascists
As former head of Stonewall Ruth Hunt said (with deep sarcasm),
"It's great to learn that the media *now* support butch lesbians."
Not to be THAT feminist, but I knew this was the case before opening the article. Men see fatherhood as an abstract milestone that's a proof of their virility, women see the associated costs.
Not to mention that women not being locked into domesticity is the core of the antifeminist backlash today.
I should say "supposedly-somewhat-less-far right that also is the load bearing structure and incubation pool for the far-far right"
is there any longer a meaningful distinction between "right" and "far right" in the US? they've been indistinguishable for a long time and I can't help but wonder if continuing the distinction only serves to rehabilitate the otherwise completely repugnant policy ideas of the (less far) "right"
if you think the greatest threat to effeminate gay boys is the trans movement and not the cis straight men who overwhelmingly exclude and brutalize them then you should walk into the ocean immediately
Spread the word! Our division is open to anyone who works on discourse analysis, conversation analysis, ethnography of communication, & related approaches! This is the conference Iβve been going to almost every yr for the past 9 yrs. Iβm currently the vice chair & program planner of this division!
absolutely the point. big part of this accelerationism is that constant mutability means things are harder to pin down, which encourages in some a collapse as they reckon with the loss of meaning, and in others Evola's prescribed "act first, think later" attitude. generating insanity on all fronts.
really one of the strangest media cycles in history, where mainstream media actively hid the fact that the columbine killers were popular upper class preppy kids with full on neo-nazi ideologies and instead pretended they were victims of bullying
Media Matters analyzed a year of NYT coverage of anti-trans bills and found that 66% of the time the paper didn't quote a trans person. Further, it found that the paper often quoted right wing sources without mentioning their histories of anti-trans rhetoric.
So "right-wing rag" is pretty accurate.
I think there is some truth to the fact that certain groups that claim to fight antisemitism have damaged their credibility by labeling too much criticism of Israel as antisemitism. But a lot of people are way too gleeful that this means they no longer have to pretend to care about antisemitism.
the washington state department of licensingβs phone menu is available in 10 languages and it turns out the 9 that arenβt english were just english with an accent of the language you picked. so press 2 for spanish and it was just english with an accent
There are so many people who see these horrors with Trump as the root cause, but no, he isn't. He is simply the symptom and current incarnation of a nation founded on genocide and built on the mass graves of people all over the world as a result of American exploitation, greed, and hate.
This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism vs. No It Wonβt

In a statement to The Crimson, Summers wrote that the decision to leave was βdifficultβ and that he remained βgrateful to the thousands of students and colleagues I have been privileged to teach and work with since coming to Harvard as a graduate student 50 years ago.β βFree of formal responsibility, as President Emeritus and a retired professor, I look forward in time to engaging in research, analysis, and commentary on a range of global economic issues,β he added.
When academia's stars mistreat people, they're "punished" with relief from teaching, mentoring, and service responsibilities. This frees them to spend more time on the more valued work of research. And dumps less valued responsibilities onto colleagues, making it harder for them to become stars.
