NHS urges people to get flu vaccination before winter
A Devon hospital trust is encouraging people to get their flu vaccinations before winter starts.
@england.nhs.uk How is a child of 16 supposed to get a flu vaccination? We have all been urged to get one (www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...) but our GP practice says he isn't eligible, his post-16 college doesn't offer one and our local pharmacies are unable to vaccinate a 16YO privately? Advice please

Just had a look on 'X'. Seems there are some very lively (and often unpleasant) education related discussions. I wonder if it is a reflection of what will be happening in classrooms as we head into November...

Latest ITT statistics are somewhat positive, with most secondary subjects - especially shortage ones - recruiting better than last year. Primary down a smidge, English down due to bursary cut
But majority still likely to be below target (this is last year's targets: new actuals out next month)

Now listening to David Didau keynote at the @schoolsnortheast.bsky.social Curriculum Conference, using some interesting optical illusions to highlight how our brains interpret information depends upon how we look at it - open-mindedness and curiosity help us to see things differently.

It would have been interesting to see plans for implementation and risk assessment. I've seen one version from a local authority that was promoting one of these interventions in all its schools as a universal intervention for all pupils. Seems rather indiscriminate...
