I'm such a "learn by doing" person that I always get impatient trying to learn anything other than what I'm actively trying to do, and that just doesn't work with some things, haha

Ooh, I will take you up on that! I really admire people who know how to make cool spreadsheets but the formulas feel very overwhelming and I don't always know how to look up a tutorial for what my end goal is.
I just went with the A description for each of them because I didn't want to try to figure out how to make it so players could choose A or B and with so many connections I don't think they really need the extra choice for this game anyway.
Screenshot of Google sheet showing Evelyn, Darling and Stephanie from the Good Society Connections deck.
Now players can choose a connection name from the dropdown menu and it'll show the art and character info.
I basically don't know anything about doing formulas in Google Sheets but I just learned how to use the vlookup function to add all the Connections images and descriptions to my Good Society playspace so making connections when playing online is WAY easier. π
The days are getting shorter, the leaves are beginning to fall, and the end of the season is just around the corner.
It's time for one last hurrah, whether that means making a love match (for yourself or others!), humiliating your rival, or securing your financial future with an engagement.
a 3d render of mew, floating mid-air holding onto an onigiri. mew is admiring the sakura petals surrounding it, and is surrounded by sakura trees in full bloom. on the ground a distance away, is a picnic blanket with onigiri, dango, some tea, and water, as well as a comfy yellow cushion under the tree.

This 8-10 session campaign of Good Society starts one week from today, and there's only one spot left! The game will be very romance-forward so if you've been watching Bridgerton and thinking "I want to go to there" check out this campaign, I think you'll like it!

I'm so dedicated to the horrors of womanhood that I'm running the Void Mystery for my game of Brindlewood Bay while violently on my period AND dealing with mommy issues in my personal life

God I feel this. There are so many times where a review of a game has me like this thinking βIβm truly the only one who understand this gameβ
Haha I love one-shots but I honestly get people who donβt prefer them, and there are plenty of games I love but wonβt play as a one-shot.
Haha, I feel that. I would have a hard time deciding between "do I stop the bit and um actually about games or do I just joke around because my friend is joking." I have ruined a lot of conversations with an um actually response to a bit so I can understand that not being good entertainment.
*pushes up glasses* the Brennan defender has logged on
(actually though this is just an excuse for me to tell people to listen to the Wanderhome episodes of One Shot)
This clip is causing TTRPG discourse (which is fine, I love people talking about games) but I feel like maybe people don't know that Brennan has definitely played diceless games AND roleplaying games where you don't use a table so he is really just going along with Vic's bit here.
It's a fun and interesting thing to think about! IMO there's overlap between improv, TTRPGs, LARP, board games and writing exercises but they're not all exactly the same thing. Dice are often used as an element of random chance but there are games that use other forms of chance or no chance at all.

The things that get stuck in my brain and come out in other projects are things I love deeply because they're a little bit wrong or a little bit incomplete. I'm endeared to them because of their mistakes and eccentricities.
The things that give me a burst of creativity and the desire to make them my own in some way are the things I *love* but are missing something I think I could add or improve in my own iteration. I wrote Star Wars-inspired stories as a kid because I loved the movies but wanted to see girls in them.
I was thinking about this because when I first started watching Delicious In Dungeon, I kept thinking about how perfect it would be for a campaign setting. Then after I finished reading the manga I was so satisfied that I had almost no desire to try to replicate it.
I've been thinking lately about how imperfect execution of art is often more compelling for creativity than art that is executed perfectly.
I love him so much.
