What, would they attack us unprovoked and bomb a school?

Isn't 39% the ratio of people who believe we actually found WMDs in Iraq? RW media was 99% to blame for that.

I think you downplay the role of RW media a bit too much. If Fox, etc reported honestly instead of cheeleading, more people would see through the obvious lies. Part of their support is due to being told they are winning on everything. An honest media would have flushed Trump in the 2016 primary.

Thank you Sen. Murray for saying this, but we need stronger leadership in the Senate, Schumer should step aside. Dems should be holding up all confirmations and other Senate business until this illegal war is stopped.

25% of the population are gullible rubes that will believe whatever the cult tells them. Another 50% don't really pay that much attention, let alone try to understand how a policy will actually work. To doubt the plausibilty could only be based on how the results would be reported.

Raskin tears Kristi Noem a new one: "Apparently when your blankie was left on one of the govt jets and not transported to the new one, your special govt employee, Corey Lewandowski, chivalrously stepped forward to fight the pilot -- mid air!"

They get a very limited time for questioning (5 min. in the last hearing I watched).

DOs and DON’Ts
DO call this out for the evil it is and connect it to other harms of the regime: β€œFrom Epstein to ICE to Iran, this regime commits crimes against humanity.”
DON’T talk about this as a β€œdistraction,” as it belittles the horrific human toll. Further, messaging about messaging isn’t persuasive.
DO make clear the horrific human toll: β€œThis regime is killing people for power and profit.”
DO, especially if you are a messenger credible to conflicted Trump voters, emphasize this is a betrayal of what Americans want and need.
DON’T rely on hypocrisy arguments such as β€œTrump ran promising peace but is dragging us to war.” This credits the previous statement and implies what’s wrong here is inconsistency instead of evil.
DO, when speaking specifically of the lies peddled about Iran’s involvement in the election, remind Americans that β€œthis regime/Trump wants to control the outcome of the election.”
DON’T repeat Trump’s lies about β€œelection fraud” in an earnest effort to rebuff them.
DO call this war β€œTrump’s war”
DON’T call this war β€œAmerica’s war” or simply β€œwar.”
DO say β€œwar on Iran”
DON’T say β€œwar with Iran,” which implies a mutual back and forth.

This isn't new though, it's just a new (faster, broader) format. AM talk radio has been loaded with grievance for decades.

Most voters *never* have a good feel for what Dems actually stand for. Dem policy goals almost always poll better than GOP. Voters don't associate those policies with the candidates, IMO due to poor messaging and "both-sidism" in the media.

Senator Murray isn't attending. I would think that provides enough cover for the rest of the party mainstream to skip it as well.

20.02.2026 19:01 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

How? I don't see a viable pathway until Dems are back in power. Do you think there is realistic leverage to get a bill to the floor, pass it, and override an inevitable veto?
Tear it all down should be the goal, but suggesting that is the ONLY position to advocate seems unproductive.

Oversight is how we hold accountable those responsible for these atrocities. Abolishing ICE prevents more from happening. Both are needed.
