Judging by reviews, they have thankfully done a better job with the film itself.

Sleeve for the 4K release of All the President's Men featuring a well-known image of Hoffman and Redford that has been touched up with AI.
The irony of seeing a film about the beautiful artwork of Graham Humphreys and on the same evening buying something with cover artwork that suggests that someone was asked "Can you make Dustin Hoffman look 15?"
Graham Humphreys, Reece Shearsmith, Cathi Unsworth, Chris Collier, and Mike Muncer onstage at the Prince Charles Cinema
The Q&A after the film - Graham Humphreys, Reece Shearsmith, Cathi Unsworth, Chris Collier (the director) and Mike Muncer.
There are certainly some very familiar faces in the trailer.
Watching Rush Hour 3 and a little surprised to see an uncredited Roman Polanski turn up. Although given the director, I probably shouldn't be.
Off to see Captured Souls, a documentary about Graham Humphreys, at the Prince Charles with @chicalolita.bsky.social tonight.

NEXT SUNDAY! All Remembered Mothers' names to me please by 10p.m Saturday 14th. Reposts appreciated.
It took Trump 10 days to create an energy crisis reminiscent of the 1970s, replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei, and weaken our alliances worldwide. He put American servicemembers in harmβs way, resulting in seven deaths. None of this made you safer or better off.
I can't compete with this.

The Jimmy Carr story I always think of is when he was ruining someoneβs gig years ago while workshopping his laugh to get presenting gigs & got told to stop from the stage because βI donβt come to your shows and laughβ
A very sweet innocent lurcher face nose covered in chocolate milk
Someone has yet again stolen some of my chocolate oat milk. The dog is helping me solve this mystery, faithful companion as ever.
But, rather than receiving a formal invite to meet Trump, Farage was in fact invited to Mar-a-Lago by a member of the club, according to multiple people briefed on the matter They said Farage had hoped he would be able to catch Trump for a conversation as the US president was scheduled to travel to Mar-a-Lago that evening. However, Trump had a change in his itinerary and decided to stay instead in Doral, about an hour`s drive away The Reform leader's failure to secure an audience with the US president underscores a weakening of ties between the two populist leaders who famously formed a close friendship in the vears before and after the 2016
Massive humiliation for Farage, who tipped off the UK press that he was flying to Florida to have dinner with Trump... only for Trump to decide he had more interesting things to do when Nigel arrived.
Who could have foreseen MAGA geniuses making things much much worse?
Simon Tisdall, the independent-minded journalist who was pivotal in ensuring the Guardian opposed the Iraq war of 2003, is sounding a loud alarm todayβ¦

Listening to the audiobook of Desperation (read by King himself) and like the brief mention of one of the characters reading Misery novels.
THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!
Paul Sheldon's rather slim manuscript for his new novel in Misery.
How many pages are there in his new novel? 20?
Re-watching Misery for the first time since its original release.
Booked to see Hard Boiled on 35mm at the Prince Charles next week.

Rewind TV are showing Blood for Dracula tomorrow night and Flesh for Frankenstein on Sunday. Udo Kier is fabulous in both.

That was great fun, I love when a movie wears its references on its sleeve. And the choice of final music confirms it had its tongue squarely in cheek (as if the Young Frankenstein joke didn't already). Jessie Buckley is incapable of a bad performance. She's just an atom bomb of an actress.
Off to see The Bride! with @chicalolita.bsky.social tonight.
@michaelspicer.bsky.social has a brilliant take on this type of programme:

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and theyβre simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was βyour piano is too close to the fireplace, youβll dry it outβ and if thatβs not the internet in a nutshell I donβt know what is.
