ICE in Minneapolis completely failed to reckon with home field advantage. Never invade Russia during the winter. Never get into a snowball fight with Norwegian middle schoolers. These are lessons that every conquering army must inevitably learn.

In the year of our Lords of Kobol 2026 why are we having β€œSemi-Charmed Life” on the halftime show of the Orange Bowl? And no radio edit version!

I'm at an hour less of sunlight today than usual (not that I'm leaving this hotel because COLD!).

It's so weird to be in MN today where I'm getting less sun than normal.

Persuasion was published on this day in 1817. Making it 208 years of every other love letter not being good enough.

I can imagine at least five of our classmates that would have used a disability to get more time not to mention our classmates that should have used them.

Remember those days of Fox in the early 00s when the shows either started in August and went on a long hiatus or started in November. (Man why do I remember that break in S1 of The OC for baseball.)

β€œAre the fae open source” is the kind of deranged sentence that keeps me addicted to microblogging. Beautiful poison Rappaccini flower.

It sounds crazy but I promise you: if you just put your phone aside and read for half an hour each night before bed, it will change your life.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Oh it might have been the booksellers at the B&N or other places, which felt so odd as they were selling the hell out of a certain magical series. I don't have that same feeling now when I go into a bookstore for sure.

There’s no reason to have been annoyed by them when they came out, but I remember it as I was getting back into reading for pleasure in those days. It just make me frustrated as a reader to be sort of dismissed for what catered to my interests.
