Mandela on isnt and never has been the prime minister and while he is undoubtedly a rotten apple - heβs not a lying, cheating, grifting unfit head of state responsible for many avoidable deaths because his love life was getting spicy.
Indeed they wonβt!
Michelle Obama wearing a gorgeous beaded top sits beside Barack Obama who is wearing a beige suit. She rests her hand on her chest while he smiles at her, surrounded by greenery in the background.
If we're going to post or repost anything about the Obamas today, let's please make it this: β€οΈ
Thats right! There used to be a cafe up there called The Ponderosa. It was the place everyone drove to go sledging and then have a hot chocolate after.
Is that the Horseshoe Pass?
This is exactly what we need to do. I follow this Insta account. The link Iβve shared is to a reel where he explains the importance of standing up to these forms of behaviour and relates it directly to the rise of fascism in 1930s

A Reform council leader behind a βDogeβ-style crackdown on public spending owns two firms now in administration owing Β£1.5 million, including over Β£500,000 in unpaid tax, Covid loans, and staff wages.
What a divine cover!

If anybody is going to be alone on Christmas Day and would like a quick call/zoom then I would be happy to do this - DM me if you want. I can talk about food, sport, tv or the weather. But most importantly I can talk/listen. π If not me, Iβm sure I can find somebody for you.

My 2 guesses were wide the mark!
@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social a gentle reminder that once a reliable measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a reliable measure.
Pirates, the rainy day game where all the teachers were βonβ. All the gymn equipment was out in the hall and they chased an entire year group round the hall till everyone had been tagged, except for that one kid at the top of the rope whoβd coiled it round them so no one could climb up beneath them
Will do!
I am to rail travel, what Jonah was to sea-farers. I will undoubtedly be marooned there again π€£
I love Ludlow.
Spent many hours in The Feathers Hotel enjoying a drink (or 3) while waiting for the train home. Last time we were stranded there for 3.5 hours on a Saturday evening when our train was delayed because trees had blown down both in front and behind it.
So which was it? Fab or fabulous chaos?
They are already being punished by the adults failings.
Sorry Iβm a bit raw having dealt with an investigation by CEOPs for a 6 yr old today. Well meaning but clueless parents using the iPad to babysit their child.
We definitely need to fix the big picture - agreed, but there are nowhere near the online safeguards in place that Joe Public thinks there are. Self harm, suicidal ideation, sexploitation, grooming happening in primary schools under the noses of parent and itβs the vulnerable who are at most risk.
I know by posting this youβll see me as falling into the unbalanced argument side of the debate however until adults face up to their own addiction to smart phones, their inability/unwillingness to set boundaries or even stay informed about online dangers, the negatives outweigh the positives.
Yes I did and your second part was well put, children and YP are being short changed but internet is not a panacea. Government (local national) need to deal with all the issues you rightly pointed out but I remain firm on the fact that unlimited screen time damages children and internet is toxic.
Sorry I canβt agree with you. I work in a primary school and the damage that tablets and phones has done to childhood is immeasurable. Anxiety levels are the highest ever, social and language skills are woeful. No child needs devices until their brains are formed. 16 is plenty soon enough.
