SΓ©amus is willing to let me keep going to conferences, but there are strict conditions.
Thank you @hayleybrabazon.bsky.social and @nwavc2025.bsky.social for hosting SΓ©amus for his first academic conference! Such a lovely bunch of people and some really interesting papers too! π
My child is clearly the star of the conference π
I've spent almost a decade researching and writing about incredibly difficult histories. I was always able to compartmentalise and deal with it.
All of a sudden, since coming back from maternity leave, I can't hack it at all. It's all too upsetting.
How can I go back to how I was??

I'm not sure it's the distance that makes following a stranger home creepy π
I think you should make it a permanent fixture, it looks cool
You can use a bra for all sorts of things really, like carrying shopping home if you forgot your bag for life, or as a doorstop while you nip out for a fag.
I've started wearing jumpsuits to make me feel sophisticated. Great for breastfeeding, terrible for going to the loo while holding a baby...
Oh I missed the bit about the belt. That's probably a far better rope.
I feel like you should've mentioned the rack/ pannier much earlier.
The jumpsuit is a problem (jumpsuits are usually a problem aren't they) but I reckon if you take your socks off they'll do as a stand in for rope. If they're not long enough you may have to use your bra/ hair
Ok need more deets. Does it have any kind of hook attached?
I spent ten years roaming London and being an alcoholic, this sort of situation is absolutely my forte.
Special thanks to my delightful baby who decided to pull my top down and share his favourite thing in the world (my boob) with everyone on the zoom call π«
I grew up in a flat in central London. Moved to a town when I was 12 and my God, I was convinced we were about to all be killed in our beds the first time I heard what turned out to be a pair of loved up foxes
