McCLEAN EQUALS RECORD IN GREENCASTLE Conall McClean and Catherine Whoriskey picked up the respective top prizes at the Greencastle 5 Mile Road Race held in unseasonably mild conditions. Almost 800 runners came under starter’s orders in the 39th edition of the hugely popular Tyrone classic superbly organised the McCullagh family in commemoration of their father Oliver who founded the race. Conall McClean Conall McClean took advantage of the fine weather to equal the race record of 24 minutes and seven seconds held by marathon Olympian Paul Pollock.

The Newry AC athlete was a comfortable winner 12 months ago coming home well clear of the field. O’Farrell graduated from Loughborough University 18 months ago with a degree in Economics and is now based in Liverpool and runs for the eponymous harrier club.
