Unlike other Cold War museums that have cobbled together exhibits from various sources this is exactly how we did our Air Defence job.

So apparently they’re not using the cycle track. When I know more I’ll share it. In the meantime if you live in #NorthWales and can volunteer they definitely need your help at this new #parkrun It’s an ongoing issue for all volunteer coordinators at parkruns across the world. Wakes Holidays were an opportunity for mill workers in Lancashire to head to the coast for a break, and the tradition lead to the growth of Lancashire coastal towns like Blackpool and Morecambe.

Fantastic!

Never seen this, but I always remember that we still had Wakes in Oldham growing up, so we had two weeks off school.

Only a few cotton mills remained in the late 80s, we went around one at junior school but the Oldham Wakes holiday remained. I believe it’s no longer a thing now though

Doing a bit more research and it looks like they have found a cracking location for a new #parkrun I’m assuming their plan is to use the 1.2km road cycling track. Four and a bit laps would give you 5km. It’s flat, a few turns and designed for cycling. As Endorphin Empire likes to say - PB potential!

For anyone needing any form of medical care it’s beyond belief.

My neighbour had been waiting for two appointments and when they came through, they were in Liverpool and Preston on the same day. So he had to choose to cancel one. How is that right? Then the NHS blames him.

The rumours have been buzzing for ages that a new parkrun will be starting soon in Rhyl. Well, we can officially confirm that this is true, however it comes with a big BUT!! Any guesses?¿ We hope you guessed right away, it needs volunteers 🙋‍♀️ 😉 So here we are shouting out to all of our neighbours in Rhyl who struggle to get over to the Nova on a Saturday morning because of transport issues. We know how much you 💙❤️ parkrun and the community spirit that parkrun brings. We know how much you ❤️💙 being outdoors no matter what the weather. And we know how much you would all love to 🙋‍♀️🙋🙋‍♂️volunteer and help get marsh tracks up and running. Interested?? French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to defend Cyprus after a Shahed drone strike on a British air base.

Agreed, that’s why ideally you’d have a mix of systems to protect layers and key points.

We seem to be ignoring the doctrine and lessons learned; if anything it’s as if we’re going backwards.

If we had kept our C-RAM capability from Afghanistan and Iraq, and then used that to build a C-UAS capability we wouldn’t be as behind as we are now.

The other part of the problem is the British Army’s lack of a decent C4I system to connect it all up.
