I need all artists to know that using 3D models in your art is not cheating. Those free-to-use 3D models are literally there to make your life easier. Stop being so hard on yourself and just trace that 3D object. You don't need to be able to perfectly draw every object ever from memory!!

it’s so tiring cuz this has been going on for YEARS that it probably is older than the armchair people who throw a conniption fit about tools and they would die once they saw how much tracing and bashing & reusing working artists do. it’s all just tools & how you use them

(and that really was inspiring to me to try to make porcelain lamps one day but now i’ll stick to stoneware lol)

oh those are all so pretty! i love the cerulean colors of the green glaze a lot! also same- i throw with bmix which is pretty soft but seeing people work with porcelain really thinly is so intimidating (there’s a Pottery Throwdown challenge too where they had to throw porcelain light fixtures)

i am starting a glaze boot camp and i also have not taken full photos of a lot of my work since last year for my own glaze notebook and i need to make 3-5 pieces a week for this class so you will probably see a lot of espresso cups and matcha bowls for sale in the next couple of months 😭

had a good ECCC and thank you to @theconrangers.com for letting me hide in their space when i needed breaks cuz this was essentially my first big con back as an attendee after covid and after burnout 💖💖 now i have a cat in my lap at julie’s & i just got my syllabus for a class i have TOMORROW WHOOPS

it’s been a while since the last #pottery update cuz our soda fire was delayed because of a repair on our outdoor kiln! But i did have ONE thing in a reduction fire & it’s this pod sculpture with my favorite glaze combo (green tea & blue cerulean) on my current favorite clay body (bravo buff)

i’m like ????? you can just get a sandwich and eat in the park for way less HELL, you can take the train to Dolores Park, get BETTER Sandwiches and get away from the corpo area for like 20$ instead 😬

I cannot emphasize enough that these people are being laid off for failing to do things that are literally impossible
