always a treat to learn that an anodyne tune you know primarily from looney tunes was originally paired with horrifically racist lyrics en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27ve_...
I didn't read the story but I could imagine "gifting you shoes that intentionally don't fit" being some stupid business guy power move of his, in which case he might notice

the article is from australia, one of several countries on earth that are not america, and its politicians have used that rhetoric to justify their support of the strikes
it's not blaming women or feminism. it's blaming people who cynically pretend to care about feminism when they can use it to justify a war. just like making fun of people who pretend to care about women's sports to justify transphobia would not be blaming feminism

in maths Daniel Litt has posted a lot about what they can and can't do. they're quite good at essentially turbo lit review, being able to pick out obscure results or methods that only an expert in the field would usually be aware of
so in both coding and a lot of research, they can do tasks comparable to what a new employee or early graduate student could do. this leads to the obvious problem that you don't get experienced employees or PhD grads if you use LLMs to do these tasks instead
they do still often get it wrong when you tweak the input slightly, but most of the time verifying a solution is much easier than generating it, so you can just do that a few times and check each result
(I feel morally bad about doing so but being paid $100/hr for something I can do during gaps in my real job hours paves over a lot of that. don't tell my employer)
I've done freelance work on them where the task is "give it a physics problem that it gives an incorrect solution for". this has become harder to do over time and the constraints on what they let you ask have been widened
