Currently, Hōrmazd is motionless in the sky—and his strait (which facilitates the movement of ~20% of the world's total energy wealth) is motionless in the water.
You can't make this up.

Operation Epic Failure
The Persian way to get through eclipse season, in a nutshell:
- Praying.
- Keeping away from the noxious rays.
- Abstaining from sex.
- Avoiding mind-altering substances (incl. alcohol).
- Moderating food intake.
- Maintaining cleanliness of body, mind, and environment.
- Taking it easy.
The devil-worshippers just bombed the Golestan Palace—a UNESCO heritage site in Tehran.
Sirens, thuds, fire, smoke, shrapnel, devastation... but no panic.
No fear for the minions of Ahriman.
Very interesting.
Gulf Arabic also uses ṭāzaj, which is a direct borrowing from Middle Persian tāzag.
More like Iraqi Persian, tbh.
Another thing:
Gaždum (= Scorpio) is not as licentious and debauched as modern "astrologers" make it out to be.
If anything, it is quite prominent in the nativities of celibates and those who save themselves for marriage.
Iranophobes can suck my dick.
The Persians were the ones who politicized astrology.
I'll check it out, thanks for sharing 🙏
Indeed!
بسالش ساختهایم، بماهش هم میسازیم
Persian*
It's probably تَيّار tayyār ('stream', 'current'), not طَيّار ṭayyār ('pilot').
😂
The first of many future posts covering the Parts used in Persian astrology.
In this post (which is really more of an essay), I expound on the Persian role in the evolution of astrology.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think
I'm thrilled to have you on board—thanks for joining!
Much more to share in the coming days 🙏
The Persians did associate the eighth place with something—but it wasn't the sign of "Scorpio".
Rather, the eighth was associated with Kēwān (= Saturn), because Kēwān presides over the seconds prior to the native's emergence from their mother's womb (a hellish and potentially fatal process).
Not only does this post introduce you to the diverse forms of Mihr, it also features passages from TWO Persian astrology books that I'm currently in the process of translating to English (one of them is being translated for the first time ever)!
Wishing everybody a blessed Yaldā and an easy Zamistān! ❄️
Revised hypothetical:
*lāžur(d)ag → Ar. al-ʾazraq
(Expert opinions are more than welcome)
Wishing everybody a blessed Yaldā and an easy Zamistān! ❄️
1. Not really.
2. Your ludicrous reply suggests otherwise.
3. I prefaced by saying it's a long shot. Your last-ditch attempt is honestly quite pathetic.
(Mute is reciprocal, btw)
It does, in fact, happen. 😊
1. I'm not sure where you got "Persian" from, since I never specified which Iranian language.
2. You're making an unreasoned assumption—not knowing that Middle Persian ambar (‘ambergris’) and kahrobāy (same meaning) were both borrowed into Arabic.
