Iβm going to be extra sad on here (Bluesky) for a little while.

I know some people cope with grief through work but I am not one of those people. I really wish I could just disconnect entirely right now. Instead, I have to do my best to dole out short-interval sob sessions between work tasks, all while trying to convince myself Iβm fine so I can get things done.
A black and white picture of Slurpie, an amazing cat and the most incredible Void Queen.
Another picture of Slurpie the cat, this time with her head sideways and peeking through a desk chair. Her green eyes are wide.
Slurpie the amazing, beautiful cat sits next to a gift bag, posing for the camera.
Slurpie the cat sits on OPβs lap, in front of a laptop, and just in front of a lit Christmas tree.
We had to say goodbye to our little Void Queen yesterday. No amount of extra time with her wouldβve been enough but Iβm grateful for the years we had together. Slurpie was our empath cat, our baby girl, our bedtime head guardian. She made our lives better and our days brighter and was so, so loved π€
I need boss alerts that exclusively come from his voice.
To be clear, there is no downside to this.
After hundreds of hours in Hades 2, I donβt think Iβll ever be able to hear Astalor Bloodsworn say anything in WoW without also expecting to hear βGoddessβ at the end.
Outside of the usual reasons for disliking new currencies in WoW, Iβve also realized they make me way more reserved when it comes to spending. I know what 750 gold will get me. I know how it compares to my budget. I have no clue if 750 Voidlight Marl is a lot or a little or if Iβll need it later.
Hey, youβll never see me saying random and chaotic canβt also be good.
What if, instead, we just randomly picked a director and a classic?
Jordan Peele's 'Count of Monte Cristo'
Greta Gerwig's 'The Metamorphosis'
Denis Villeneuve's 'Great Expectations'
Oh, I speak more from personal experience than anything else. One look at the Young Horses catalog gives this away π
For what itβs worth, having someone in a leadership position who understands this phenomenon (actively or otherwise) is invaluable for the neurodivergents on a team.
(Conversely, a leader not having it at all exacerbates the self-inflicted negative feelings associated with executive dysfunction.)
Not my first answer and maybe a bit of a stretch, but I will always shout out The Leftovers, which started as a not-quite 1:1 adaptation of the novel for Season 1, then went into new β and incredible β original territory for Seasons 2 and 3.
Look, I've been all for the Old Gods taking over capital cities for a while now, and while that's probably not the most popular opinion, hear me out: What if we got new, Silvermoon-level rebuilds of other capital cities as a result? >.>
lmao, Return to Silent Hill is an even *worse* adaptation than the first film. It took so many left turns where the game(s) went right that it started to feel like a deliberate choice β but nope. Christophe Gans really thought he was doing justice with this adaptation.
You haven't played Silent Hill 2, have you? Because Return to Silent Hill is everything you're describing here as a bad adaptation lol.
A portion of the Silvermoon map from the WoW: Midnight expansion. Thalassian University is in the top-left corner, with Murder Row in the top-right, and the Sanctum of the Light in between (and slightly south) of the two. The text when mousing over reads, "Silvermoon City. The gleaming capital city of the sin'dorei restored to its former glory."
"Silvermoon has been restored to its former glory!"
"So they finally took care of the murder problem?"
"The what?"
"The sketchy back alley, Murder Row."
"Oh, nope. It's actually bigger now."
"It's wha-"
"Really close to the central Sanctum of Light-"
"Why wo-"
"-and just across from the University."
Another WoW expansion, another reminder that the quest log cannot hold enough quests at once to keep up with the pacing of the zones.
I know it's a relatively small issue β and having an "MSQ" equivalent lessens it even more β but it still annoys the ever-living heck out of me.
PokΓ©mon GOβs MasterCraft Research series feel like the worst, grindiest parts of WoW legendary quests without any of the good parts to balance. I get that the point is a long grind for an otherwise-unattainable shiny but thereβs no fun along the way and not enough breadcrumbs for proper pacing.
Just watching Turalyon do anything is proof enough that the Void isn't the bad side, imo.

Shadow Priests being regularly harassed and judged by the guards beg to differ ;P
A screenshot from World of Warcraft showing a character hitting level 90 in the Midnight expansion.
Welp, with some short-ish breaks (maybe 30-40 min total), it took just over 10 hours to hit 90 π
I know it's increasingly not for everyone, but I've been doing the leveling spree thing since Wrath and it's genuinely one of my favorite parts of a new expansion π

mitch is the bird, liz is the mouse, so I guess I'm the badger? I'll take it.
Same, Freyja, same.
