plenty of skepticism warranted, but that's the story, yeah
most shocking part of this story imo is APD confronting an armed man in a mental health crisis and leaving him alive (and freshly disarmed) www.kob.com/new-mexico/a...
For Mahmoud Khalll, this past year has been marked by profound hardship-and by profound courage. A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child. Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.

Young Woman Still Believes In Cooties Despite Going to College
A lot of very smart people are predicting a reversion to the mean in US/Iranian relations at the conclusion of thisβ¦..crisis I guess.
But, we just martyred the current Supreme Leaderβs father and wife. We also bombed an elementary school and made the skies above Tehran rain oil.
hey congrats (on the lego and I presume the other stuff whenever that was)
To all the administration officials violating the rule of law: we will hold you accountable. Whether you survive your current positions or not.
speaking of "technologies that don't yet operation at scale", there's always missile defense
Roughly a week into the Iran war, a majority of voters oppose it, do not want to see U.S. ground troops sent, and do not expect a quick end to the conflict, per Quinnipiac poll
One of the key ways to see how all the talk about Lebanese sovereignty is a mirage is to look at what specifically DC and Paris give Lebanon in the form of military assistance. They very specifically do not want a peer state to Israel but a state just capable enough of internal policing of Lebanese.

Polling right now is pretty remarkably consistent in putting support for US attack on Iran in the low-mid '40s.

Beyond Trump's war of choice in Iran, he's helping Israel pummel the Lebanese (+ Syrians, Palestinians, migrant workers) without limits/reflection on past failed strategy
More echoes of devastating Biden-style policy.

Trump isnβt going after the βworst of the worst.β Heβs going after kids β who should be home, in school, and playing with their friends.
This is absolutely heartbreaking β and it must end.
