Good night, and good luck.

Hedge poet. I watch anime & am often accused of reading. 'Now praise those names on tombs of steel engraved | And toll this rotting country's countless bells.' Read my work: https://thaliarchus.itch.io/cosmic-warlord-kinbright

Oh your boyfriend? Yeahโฆ sorryโฆ the hue of the sฤla flowers declares how the mighty must wither; the boyfriend lasts not, but passes as a spring night's dream.

More of the same.

Reysen: I got a B during firearms training!
Well, I for one am reassured.
What I love about buying travel insurance is the creeping sense that there's a good chance they won't pay out anyway.
when i was a kid i had the classic โuncle works at nintendoโ friend. he told all kinds of tales but the claim that really stuck with me was that he and his family got to go to a special pikmin event where they dressed up as pikmin and a guy picked them up and threw them
I'm always charmed by the idea people seem to imagine that the secondary world includes a pocket orchestra in every scene.
True philology.
Mm, doesn't sound too bad. I guess when it really hits people is when they pay for accommodation while on the trip itself, that sort of thing.
With, again, apologies if you've already thought this out, the main museum and art gallery in Bristol has richer and more varied collections than you might expect in a city that size (partly because it was an imperial port).

That question laid aside, yes, card payment is now pretty standard here. A small number of shops are card only, and an even smaller number are cash only, but almost every shop in a city will take both.
If you haven't already (and if you have, sorry to bring it up), check the rate your credit/debit card(s) charge for transactions abroad.
If it's high, you might cumulatively save significant money by getting cash at a good rate before you go.
Think I saw some frogspawn in a local pond.
Revisiting the early half of Infinite Ryvius with the family on our anime nights and still enjoying that it's a sci fi show which is *slow*, like the imminent crisis of an episode is "we need to crash dive into the nebula, this will take 8 hours" or "they've fired at us and can do it again tomorrow"

Have you heard of J9? They used to raise hell across the Solar System, back in the day.

It must be cognate. IIRC, the OED records some more modern uses of it to mean an edge. Of course, that might be Dutch influence intermingling with the English word. Wouldn't be the first case!
huh that just means 'edge' in modern dutch in general
The Middle English noun 'rand' means a strip.
It's only used of land, in placenames and surnames from placenames, both from the land senseโฆ and for meat/bacon.
Impressive that US democracy has managed to replicate the "king so bad in a medieval chronicle you wonder if they're real or a symbolic trope for misrule" effect
Public support for US attack on Iran down 10 points since last week. 59% oppose to 25% support. Tory supporters now evenly split. Another Keminaissance triumph.
Sunshine outside this morning. I've heard of that stuff.
What's your sign?
No freaking way

just saw someone post they thought the chicago bean was statue of liberty size and were disappointed to find out it wasnโt. now crying at the idea of a state of liberty sized chicago bean
I think a couple of recent British monarchs have done it, but I believe that's because they wanted to avoid ruling with the name Albert (in tribute to *the* Albert, Victoria's consort).
