Ours just needs an Ethernet cable.
Ours just needs an Ethernet cable.
My favourite was the guy who installed our new geothermal heating. He told us that the pump "can connect to wifi but you need to use a cable"...
It was multiple per night, not multiple at a time. My endometriosis made one painful enough as it was.
I must have imagined all the nights I had to set an alarm to get up and change my tampons *and* pad in order to not bleed all over the bed.
I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)
After the Rubygems drama, I felt frustrated that I canβt escape evil people trying to dominate my life.
I found myself mourning the future I thought we would have; but also hopeful that itβs not too late to start choosing kindness.
Join me in building a better future:

Just nu kommer det en kanonad av koncernfinansierade rapporter om marknadsskolan. Jag ska nu berΓ€tta om en rapport och en forskningsartikel om skillnaden mellan friskolors och kommunala skolors resultat som kommer frΓ₯n oberoende myndigheter/forskare. *trΓ₯d*
Anyway, in case you missed it, some wondering from me about whether Kemi Badenoch has ever actually read Terry Pratchett

Yep. They're a little easier to fence against though; electric fencing at ground level keeps them out while wolves will just jump over any fence that's not specifically designed to keep them out. So livestock owners are generally more unhappy with the wolves than the boars.
Boars have the general constitution of a granite boulder covered in hide. Also they are *huge*, I've seen one that was easily waist high to me. In my garden. I chose to not discuss property rights with it.
Thread. π
In my area the dangerous wildlife is mainly moose and boar, and the very occasional wolf. I'd far rather meet a wolf than a boar. Moose are generally not going to attack unless you get between a mother and her offspring, or it's a male and it's That Season.

Speaking as someone who lives in Sweden, and therefore drives in snow regularly, I have no idea what this is supposed to mean. If they can't drive safely at a low speed in snow, they shouldn't be driving in snow to start with.
Depends on whose comments are visible. For most people, I'll only look if it seems interesting. If the thread involves @tkingfisher.com , I'll always look.
When I left Substack in 2024 I wrote: "For those who are staying because they think the Nazi problem is fake or overblown...just wait. Substack mgmt just put out the welcome mat for some pretty horrible people. Many will surely answer.β
Surprise! A bunch did.

Once I tried to get @tkingfisher.com to remove an em dash. She sent me a photo of STET THIS across her knuckles.
@annepmitchell.bsky.social this is why I'll read and interact here and on Facebook but not on Substack.
OK this killed me, I am now dead: youtu.be/xIk0_uFV-rU
Here's the thing I never could understand:
Obama said that America had become better since its creation, the right said that he wasn't proud of his country.
Trump says America isn't currently a good country and needs to be made great again, that's somehow being proud of America.
I don't get it.
A World of Warcraft Dracthyr character named Ithalpherix after a character in Katherine Addison's book "The Tomb of Dragons".
When you've just read a very good book, what's the first thing you do?
You create a WoW character with a name from that book. Obviously.
Go read Katherine Addison's elf/goblin books, starting with "The Goblin Emperor". Then you too can get your very own ghost dragon!

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.
No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.
Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.
But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?
No.
This reminded me of a few pieces of art I saw on DeviantArt maybe 20 years ago (yes I'm that old). They weren't technically accomplished masterpieces, but they were things a human being had imagined and put into the world, and they've stayed with me.

Why not sex-based rights?
ANALOGY TIME!
Imagine that instead of always having the right to humane imprisonment, should you be imprisoned, you instead gain those rights when you acquire the status of "an incarcerated person." π§΅1/X

Yep. It's why I've practiced that look.
You are right. The owls are not what they seem.
