It's almost like the rich are paying to make sure half of the 90% turn on the other half so the 90% don't come together against them. Weird.
I mean, we have ICE kidnapping people off the streets, Trump going after his critics, Stephen Miller basically a hairs breadth away from calling for the blood of his enemies and the dismantling of every social safety net but someone's hair style is the problem. Ok.
But...they fought for something evil. Square that for me please.
The takeaway isn't, "surprised he can find a way to go lower," its, "he is on step x of his plan toward his desired outcome."
We need to stop seeing the moves he and the others in his tent make from our perspective and understand them on their own terms. Otherwise we will keep underestimating them over and over again.
He's not twisting himself into a reality pretzel, he's showing you who he is. He knows its bullshit. He doesn't care. The naked acquisition of power is the only thing he cares about, so he can push his christian nationalist agenda without opposition. This is The Ends Justify The Means personified.
The only story that matters is Ghorman aggression. The threats. The inexplicable resistance to Imperial norms.
