"This is not an exit strategy, this is a trap.
We need to understand that this will only prolong the violence & the conflict, and the junta's disastrous strategy in the country."

Lobby firm receives $3M from genocidal Junta!
Despite the persistent atrocities and starvation, including mass murder and persecution of civilians like the Rohingya and Christians, some continue to profit from the Min Aung Hlaing regime. #Accountability
New evidence of alleged #AA atrocities against #Rohingya in Rakhine in 2024.
The AA/ULA must facilitate entry of—& fully cooperate with—an independent int'l investigative team to Rakhine to investigate these & other alleged crimes.
Perpetrators must be held accountable. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
WPN documented the Arakan Army's massacre of #Rohingya in Thang Shout Kan/Hoyasiri, among others, in our report ➡️ womenspeacenetwork.org/s/Report_202...
For over a year, based on credible sources, we've been warning about a clear pattern of atrocities in #Rakhine State. Now is the time to act.
3/ The situation is worse than 2016-2017 genocide, largely because people have no access to communications in #Rakhine State while they face the AA's forced transfer, displacement, systematic starvation & other atrocities. We need immediate attention to this ongoing genocide.
2/ Int'l community must urgently do everything to protect #Rohingya civilians in #Rakhine State, prevent further atrocities, deploy investigations. Evidence must preserved as required by #ICJ provisional measures. I fear that the AA will continue to cover up their atrocities.
1/ Horrifying photos are being circulated, corroborating the Arakan Army's massacres of hundreds of #Rohingya in Thang Shout Kan (Hoyasiri) in May 2024. This reveals only a part of the atrocities over a year later. Now, Rohingya are facing total elimination in #Rakhine State.

🔊 @waiwainu.bsky.social: "The military is trying to use the earthquake as an opportunity to legitimize its illegal coup leading up to its fake elections. This is the same entity that committed atrocities against ethnic & religious minorities for decades, including #Rohingya genocide."
🔊 @waiwainu.bsky.social: "As #Burma faces one of the darkest moments in our history, we ask you to stand with the country’s people now. We need a strong, smart & principled ally in ending our decades-long suffering, and winning our fight for liberty."

⚠️ #Myanmar junta confirms plan to hold its sham, undemocratic "elections" after earthquake.
The int'l community must hold the military accountable and get it out of politics first. Relying on junta for a "political solution" will only prolong crisis. www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/m...

4/ Lastly, I am extremely concerned about growing anti-#Muslim and anti-#Rohingya sentiment following misinformation on UJ case on #Myanmar. This will be taken by military and the Arakan Army as an excuse to perpetrate more atrocities against Rohingya remaining in Rakhine State.
3/ Before the military's attempted coup, there were significant limitations under the 2008 Constitution and even with the Advisory Commission on Rakhine State. Int'l & domestic actions must be taken now to address these shortcomings beyond simply relying on the "Rohingya Policy."
2/ The recent statement by the NUG unfortunately contradicts its previous stance on justice & accountability and shifts blame onto victims & survivors. For an inclusive federal democracy, our leadership must reflect the principles of Justice exercised by the country's brave people.
