I'm so deep in Wikigacha help me (this is my favourite card so far)

I hadn't thought about South of Nowhere in years, so this was WILD to go back to. But a fun discussion!

The spiders were such a non-issue I didn't even include them in my review. Wild. This game is beautiful enough that they didn't even matter.

I was really, really brave. Except for the one bit that was so scary for me personally I couldn't even watch it with both eyes. But otherwise I was super super brave.

Got one last bit of free time this afternoon before going back to work tomorrow, so another dive into the Nintendo Switch Online NES catalogue meant that Nightshade (1992) became my first finished game of 2026! Another new (to me) game to learn about - but this time Australian, even more exciting!

It's not even my first forgotten Letterboxd account, I also learned tonight that I made one in 2016 and reviewed one film and never touched it again, I don't know how to do things differently

So, happy new year everyone. May your year be filled with the ability to know who you are, find peace where you can and whimsy where possible, and the energy to fight the fights you want or need to fight.

Honestly, right now, I'm tired. I'm starting the new year with some burnout to work through, and uncertainty looming, but I'm trying to focus on managing what I can control. And feeling like there ARE things I CAN control is a weirdly exciting rediscovered energy to take into 2026.

I want 2026 to be about peace. Less stress and exhaustion, and not so much time spent chasing things that don't actually make me happy. I still have a lot to learn about what things truly do. But it's a work in progress. After last year, at least I know where to start.

2025 was a weird year. Lots of big forced changes, self reflection, and attempts to establish a new normal. Huge steps forward and a whole bunch of little stumbles back. I learned a lot about myself. I felt some things I hadn't felt in years, and decided that in itself is progress. I'm opening up.

There are many reasons I can't do it, one of them is skill, another is patience. Just not the sort of game for me! But I totally get loving it for nostalgia reasons (I am a strong defender of Escape From Monkey Island, widely regarded as a horrible MI game but the first one I played as a child)
