We all have to do our part!
We all have to do our part!
Exactly.
Also, people just want us to keep our heads down and working to keep us in line.
It's funny seeing comments on Facebook from people asking if protesters have jobs. Not everyone works 9-5! In fact, I'd argue most people don't work those hours. Still, 9-5 jobs are considered "real jobs" for many people.
Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotians, we should do this more often.
I got to the rally late as I was at City Hall but itβs still going.
The motion was tied (Mancini is absent) so itβs defeated. Hendsbee is asking for a motion of rescission

This debate on the Halifax Forum is something.
I enjoy travelling around the province and not once has someone said to me, βdo you know what would bring in more tourists? Oil and gas extraction.β

My optimism is greater than my skillset, though.
That said, I am taking the bus to City Hall today. Yes, it takes a bit longer but I don't have to pay for parking and can relax and catch up on emails during the trip.
I have an above-average tolerance for risk, but drivers are getting scarier...
So, I ride horses and am still learning to go faster and fine tune my skills. Horses can spook easily and I am getting better at reining them in so they don't bolt.
Still, I feel safer riding a 1,200-pound horse than being on the streets. Do you know why?
There are no cars in the arena.
I mean, I am not a tech genius by any stretch but can figure out some basics. But I prefer offline life, even as I post this message on this platform :)
I thought about just watching council via YouTube but it's so nice outside and I could use the boost of energy today. I may drop into the rally in front of Province House, as well.
#Halifax regional council meets today after the budget committee meeting, which starts at 9:30am. Councillors will debate the multi-year capital plan, and I expect chat on the Halifax Forum to be part of that.
Here's a story on some of what is on the agenda:

Seriously, I donβt trust people who live their lives in front of screens. Tech is a tool, not life. How did we get to this shitty point listening to these people? Get the fuck outside.
If tech bros were tech sisters or anyone else but white men we wouldnβt be in the mess weβre in now.
Premier Tim Houston has called a 10:45 am news conference today related to the budget.
Thatβs terrible. Greed is a scourge.
This could never work in #NovaScotia for some reason. Premier Tim Houston wants workers downtown, not that heβs ever there.
If we donβt get into this business to expose terrible people AND stick up for journalists who are doing that work, what are we even doing?
I rarely go to Superstore now but why on earth are they asking customers if they want to round up their bill and donate that difference to charity? Galen Weston can round up the bills and donate from his own wealth.
Nope.
I think he was stressed about something, but who knows what...

I had to take my sweet #cat Donovan to the vet today. He hadnβt been his usual social, loveable self in recent days. Maybe I hurt his feelings? Maybe heβs stressed about the state of the world? Anyway, heβs coming around and got his claws clipped.
What is that saying, "there are worse things than being single?" This is definitely one of them.
