I also want to note that trans people aren't the only community facing this treatment - deaths of black mothers in pregnancy, widespread mistreatment of neurodivergent people and people with chronic illness and many other issues result from a similar combo of political neglect and malice.

I'm not a historian. But I can think of no precedent in modern Britain for what is being done to trans people. The media, public institutions, Government and (too often) the judiciary are combining to attack or exclude a marginalized group and its allies - with really no significant demurral.
Nearly a year into many trans people in the UK being forced to use disabled toilets or asked to work from home pending legal advice and stuff and I haven't seen a single "Izzy's boss told her she has to use a disabled toilet, here's how she feels about it" piece in the papers.
Shameful that the EHRC has no written records of any meetings with trans-led organisations over the last five years when trans rights have been under such assault.
Human rights apply to everyone and the EHRC should know full well that its job is to stand up for everyone’s rights. 🏳️⚧️

They all rest on the belief that it's inherently better to be straight (then)/cis (now) and that's BS.
It's really a travesty that someone who is ignorant enough of trans people to say something like this has been given so much authority over our lives.
This woman knowns absolutely nothing about trans kids and should have never been given any authority. She's killed our children.
Says the woman who disregarded evidence and medical professionals to "weaponise" children to such an extent she got necessary medical support stripped from trans young people, in a manner shown to have contributed to an increase in deaths.
She needs to sit this out.

the guidance essentially says 1 lucky lottery winner of a trans child *might* be permitted to socially transition at school but they better not hold their breath! And THIS is the reaction to THAT.
