Watching this in 2026 America, this film has aged better than you would think. But has some hamfisted naivety that came from being made in the Bush era as well as some retroactive cringe from how the Guy Fawkes imagery was used after this film. Still entertaining though.
Panel 1: A tiny dog notices a train announcement, "Arriving: Amberline. To: Sunny Slope West-End station" Panel 2: Dog is holding his backpack in his arms, running out the train with a happy face, "Finally! That's the longest I've been on one of those!" Panel 3: Dog is in train station lobby and sees a receptionist, "Ah, a receptionist!"
Panel 1: "Good evening, ma'am.... do you know where the nearest hotel is?" the dog says with a silly face Panel 2: A pig lady receptionist asks, "uhh yeah, you got a reservation?" Panel 3: A surprised dog goes, "Reservation?!" Panel 4: The pig mocks the tiny dog, "You came to Sunny Slope on a weekend and didn't make a reservation? Your best bet is that bench over there." to which he pleads, "can you please double check?" She checks, but says nope
Panel 1: The dog puts his bag on the bench, "I'm so tired that I don't even care, at least there's a roof" Panel 2: he is sleeping Panel 3: A tall, familiar cat stands over the tiny dog Panel 4: The cat scares the tiny dog Panel 5: The cat quickly starts to apologize as the tiny dog is reaching towards his weapon
Panel 1: The dog slips on the bench and looses his footing trying to get up Panel 2: Dog falls on butt Panel 3: The cat is revealed to the reader as Clifford Mirit, an older cat from last chapter, the dog does not know him, "I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Panel 4: The dog is absolutely stunned, looking up with a flustered face seeing this handsome cat
