Sen. Coons: The clearest winner from this war in Iran is Russia. It's stunning that Trump is on the phone with Vladimir Putin and spending more time consulting with him than he is with Congress and the American people.

According to CBS, Iran is placing mines in the Strait of Hormuth. Russia is an intricate and essential part of Iran's ad hoc advisory staff. Russia's sole interest is invested in weakening Europe/Eurasia and knows that the Middle East has always been a powder keg awaiting a lit match.
Ditto Donald Trump whose Daddy bought him an economics degree from Wharton, and he proves everyday that he knows nothing about economics and/or the economy. The assumption that people are intelligent and capable because they have money is hogwash.

Thank you!
There have been some very bad developments today.
But Republicans citing "Conservative" principles, government spending is too high and the debt MUST be paid down which has been the justification for cutting spending on the American people, and now we are being asked to sacrifice to pay for Trump's war as if there was anything left to give up.
I keep saying this: Trump and Netanyahu are both in a similar position, threatened by future prosecution awaiting them. Committing more war crimes together to avoid fate seems odd, but it's useful to remember that desperate people do desperate things.
Excuse me! Eisenhower was the last decent Republican President. The draft dodger inserting himself as competent general, the corrupt narcissist co-opting any identification with the last Republican President who possessed any morality is "Burn in Hell" territory.
Americans are hungry for an intangible thing, not easily identifiable on the micro-level: It's the restoration of Morality (cap M) and Ethics (cap E) in American politics. James Talarico is uniquely positioned to be the catalyst to restore the necessary missing ingredient in American politics.
Corruption was the pet project from Nixon to Reagan when the Falwell/Weyrich Project declared: Morality can legitimately be compromised when the ends justify the means. Restoration of uncompromised morality and ethics will correct the course of politics.
All of this is true; however,
Trump wasn't President. Nixon was.
Trump wasn't President. Ford was.
Trump wasn't President. Reagan was.
Trump wasn't President. H.W. Bush was.
Trump wasn't President. Dubya was.
It's rot from inside the Republican Party that brought him here AND keeps him here.
The American political class is utterly delusional, adrift in a dream of normality, unable to process the actual reality of events on the ground, where the US just launched a completely unprovoked war against a massive country, murdered its leadership, and demanded its conversion to a vassal state.

I didn't say you did support Mills. That is clear from your post. I'm not thrilled about either one, especially for a 6-year seat and, more especially, when the risk is getting Collins back, which, given the choices, we will. A far better candidate was defeated 6 years ago.
The best part of this analysis is Cory Lewandowski pictured accurately as house-elf-slave ala Harry Potter. He envisions himself as a climber, while he is but a useful troll passed around among the rich and famous.

Granted that this is problematic; however, what I can't stomach are the reasons to promote Gov. Janet Mills simply because she has served and, therefore, deserves, which is the good ole boyz politics of backwater America.
This goes far beyond "Kristi Noem is a problem." ICE is comprised of thugs from the top to the bottom. A corrupt institution cannot investigate itself unless you expect "We've investigated ourselves and found ourselves totally exonerated" as an acceptable result. Remove the cancer.
Trump will use the war dead and their families at the next SOTU and the 2028 Republican Convention, just as he did with the families of the Afhan 13 who died because of Trump and Pompeo's partnership with the Taliban which they then blamed on Joe Biden.
[TW: graphic fracture, sound of breaking bone]
Sen Tim Sheehy (R-Montana) badly breaking the arm of a Marine veteran protesting the war Iran.
At least, we now have complete clarity on why the Department of Defense was renamed the Department of War. It points directly to intent.

Mike Johnson believes that this is how you deploy tact and diplomacy. The statement is still extremely rude and exposes his connection to the false Christianity that calls itself Christian Nationalism.
This seems like the perfect day to repost our next Senator from the Great State of Texas explaining how bassackward Christian Nationalism is when juxtaposed against actual Christianity, since our military is now infested with that cultist nonsense.

Perfectly stated! Blatant disregard for American citizens, both at home and abroad.
In other words, we never bothered to consider the thousands of American citizens who are located in the Middle East for a variety of reasons. Every single one of them is at risk in the indiscriminate bombing by the U.S. and Israel and caught in the cross fire as other actors enter the war.
I urge everyone to recognize that there are thousands of American citizens in the Middle East for whom no exit plan was or is being considered. They are stranded in places where the U.S. and Israel are bombing indiscriminately. The price of war is mostly borne by innocent civilians.
yes, nothing says "innovation reinvention" like a nepobaby trust fund brat with no meaningful experience being gifted a massive hollywood empire by his technofascist dad, who leveraged his corrupt influence over the country's pudding-headed autocrats to box out competitors (?)
The concept of post-Holocaust Israel and the current government under Netanyahu are two very different things. Netanyahu and Trump are both felons who are struggling to avoid prosecution, and the answer is to commit more heinous war crimes together.
